Man how could a thread last this long when it’s such an unfair one sided fight....Bowe utterly clowns him

Think levels people...one guy at his best was a great big man who hit very hard, had fast hands, had great stamina, had a really good left jab, he could take a great punch, and who was a very talented out and in boxer..

THen you have the circuis clown who couldn’t hit hard and couldn’t take a punch. He did have heart, and his left jab developed enough to defeat a few good smaller fighters. He wouldn’t make it to round 3 against Bowe.

You can't make this stuff up. This thread should be preserved so that we can use it as an example in the future. The example being....this is what happens when we choose not use your eyes/ears to see a clear truth, and instead, distort and exaggerate flimsy proof as a counter to what seems apparent to most.

Sam Baker had a stylistic advantage over Bowe

Riddick Bowe, but Carnera had a much better work ethic when it came to training.

A sensational exaggerated depiction on carneras career but some of it was accurate. Carnera was involved in several shady fights some of which appeared to be paid dives.

    Some of it was accurate?

Even if that is true, let us look at what was missed out!

Carnera beat a number of key contenders to earn his title shot, then he bat the lineal champion by knockout.

He deserved his shot at the title, and he won the title unequivocally.

Even after he lost the title, he was a stumbling block to aspiring contenders for a while!

That was not a sensational exaggerated depiction, it was a character assassination!

Carnera has 71 recorded KO victories .. why is he not rated by any serious expert as a top twenty all time heavyweight puncher ?

    Case closed.

    Not really!

We don't know why they rated him or didn't!

    That is just speculation!

    1. He was involved in several fights which appeared to be fixed based on the news reads. Stribling, Rieux, Godfrey, Peterson in particular

    2. Who were these “key” contenders he defeated? He lost to ranked contenders Gains, Maloney, Sharkey, and poreda prior to his title shot. You might say Schaff, who entered the fight a walking dead man from his previous viscous beatings, and a little tap from carnera “killed” him

    3. “Unequivocally “ except their were several reports of sharkey taking a dive...and the bigger issue is how poorly conditioned sharkey showed up in with that tire around his midsection? Certainly not the trim younger sharkey who easily took 14 out of 15 rounds against carnera in 31.

    4. “Post”.. got badly beaten in his 20s by Leroy Haynes coming off a 4 bout win streak in which papers stated he looked at his “peak” against Neusel which happened after the louis fight and before the Haynes fight. No evidence of “washed up” going into Haynes fight
