I agree that he *should* given that everything worth a damn is on the line, but I think he'll consider being at HW as an advantage (wrongly). Let's see. I'm still not so sure it happens at all to be honest with you.

If not, I'll take Usyk-Lebedev for now.

Why would Bellew get respect if he faced Usyk? He's a boxer, he should fight his opponents - if I decided not to turn up to work and spent the morning mouthing off about it on Twitter I'd get fired. Aside from that Bellew already ducked this fight by dropping his title when Usyk became his mandatory so this would be the second attempt to get him in the ring.

    Yeah, mad respect.

Gets a chance to fight for all 4 belts (with possibility of winning) combined with a big pay-day, without even entering the cruiserweight tournament.

It is farsical really, it's debatable he would of even made the semi-finals of the WBSS if he had entered given how stacked it was.

Everything that's wrong with the sport.

The WBSS CW tournament was a who's who of the division and a great event for boxing fans, all the top dogs squaring off to decide who the man is. Bellew was notable by his absence.

Gassiev is a proven bigger puncher than Bellend. Bellend was laid out cold by Stevenson let’s not forget. His chin will be smashed to smithereens by Gassiev.

Never rated Tony's power 61%KO ratio of whom most are china packers couldn't stop one armed cleverly who Badoo Jack destroyed one legged Haye stopped on his foot twice and China Makubu. Get real Tony is not knocking Usyk out or any other top 10 cruiser or HW.

Usyk won all four belts, put himself on a platform where he could call out any Cruiserweight or Heavyweight champion he wanted and proceeded to call out Tony Bellew on tv worldwide. Remember that. You argue it’s unjustified but it’s come from the undisputed champion’s mouth.

Is he proven to be a bigger puncher than Bellew at Cruiswerweight or above . I dont think he has. Bellew never fought anywhere near his current fight weight v Stevenson. Talking of Bellew v Stevemson, i must have missed their fight when Bellew was knocked out cold.

Usyk probably wants to a) clean up the division proper, don’t forget Tony is a champion of some sort and b) get paid. He knows a Bellew fight is PPV in the UK at least. Bonus c) ranked highly with the WBC at heavyweight, what a great way to introduce yourself to that division (if it’s at heavyweight).

Exactky m8, your totally right. People always say about elite ppv fighters like Usyk that they shouldn't fight so and so as their not in thier league. Well they wouldnt fight much if at all if they only fought people at their level, as their isn't many if any at a similar weight to fight.

bellew has 'wins' over haye, yet for all the abuse haye gets here (mostly deserved ) haye left cruiser because it offered nothing and wanted a challenge (and money and fame), and bellew is running from cruiser because its the strongest and most lucrative its ever been, ie what haye needed.

i think haye would have given it a good go.

anyway, they have both pretty much reduced themselves to big brother contestant level celbs now

Usyk knows he’ll make dollar fighting in the UK against a popular fighter like Bellew.

Tony Bellend has only fought twice at HW. Both times against a one legged cripple. Let’s be real here.

Bellend is completely unproven at HW. We do know Makubu bounced him around like a basketball at CW and Stevenson had him knocked out cold on his feet.

Gassievs only loss is over 12 rounds in a decision against the CW equivalent of Lonachenko.

So Gassiev has objectively the better chin and is the bigger puncher. Gassievs punch will carry to HW.
