Dunno why people have this idea that Parker isn’t a big guy The 225-230lb Parker was 20-21 years old and looked like he had never lifted a weight in his life, that guy isn’t coming back
Watch some of his earlier fights. Whyte at 230-235 had handspeed, mobility, and didn't have stamina problems. Whyte was 247 lbs for the biggest fight of his career against Joshua and even managed to rock Joshua, but then quickly gassed out. Wlad came in at 240 lbs against Joshua for a reason. I actually thought Whyte had potential earlier in his career, but when he started showing up at 240+ I stopped taking him seriously.
Weight doesn't bode well for Whyte. Last thing he needed in a match that wasn't in his advantage to begin with...
Whyte will rehydrate up to 300 pounds on fight night. they don't call him the burger snatcher for nothing.
Nah, I'm not so sure he'd kamikaze himself like that. If he feels outclassed or is being routinely to the punch I can see him just shuffling around the ring like a zombie with his hands up high, resigned to being outboxed.
I saw Frazier go like a buzz saw for 15 rounds and never slow down. I don’t think he had terribly high body fat — in those days conventional wisdom was boxers should never lift weights because it would make them cumbersome and lumbering and lose speed. Specific weight training programs came later, as well as fat-cutting substances and other things that made having the ‘muscular look’ the norm. Whyte just looks like a undisciplined, blubbery guy to me. His workrate is in no way comparable to Fraziers and we’ve seen him gas. I think he’s just not in very good cardiovascular shape period.
