What a great card that turned out to be. Dave Allen vs Nick Webb. Love this lad, he's every promoters wet dream when he can show up and do that on short notice. Good to see Allen get a sensational knockout. Derrick Chisora vs Carlos Takam. Great fight. Never ever count out Derrick Chisora. Great KO. But back to reality, Chisora was losing pretty much every round, got a feeling his next fight will be his last hurrah before retirement. Dylan Whyte vs Joseph Parker. Another great fight, but you've got to feel for Joseph Parker. Take nothing away from Whyte, he put in a fantastic performance, but I still had Parker up by 2 on my card and Parker had him hurt, down, and almost finished half a dozen times in the last 3 rounds. twice in a row for Parker the scorecards don't reflect the fight. Should be a rematch. Someone please put Teddy Atlas and Tony Bellew in a white padded room together.
You don't know anything about boxing. Allen is most promoters worst nightmare,, because he's lazy, lacks ambition and is just happy to turn up and if he gets the win it's a bonus for him. The chisora fight was back and forth throughout with Takam gaining the upper hand towards the latter stages but Chisora did the old rope a dope and waited for him to fade. Parker was losing on the cards until the last two rounds where he had those big moments to completely end the fight. Up until that point Whyte was more or less cruising to a decision because he showed more intent and aggression and had the phantom kd. Best case scenario would have been a draw, but Parker didn't do enough to win away from home but I will say the ref saved Whyte from the jaws of defeat (pun intended)
You don't know anything about boxing. Promoters love a guy like Allen, he's an entertaining and competitive fighter who fights on short notice to prop up ailing cards, like tonights. Write that down in your boxing scrapbook. Don't be fooled, great performance and comeback KO by Chisora, but he's on his last legs. If he didn't get lucky and catch Takam, Takam would have won a near shutout. IMO Parker won tonight in a close affair, but once again the scorecards don't reflect the performance. Take nothing away from Dylan Whyte, he did much better than I thought he would and used his size very well, but have to feel for Parker, he's going to lose all the close decisions for the rest of his career coming from NZ.
Allen is loved so.much that Hearn has threatened to drop him from matchroom because of his unprofessional attitude in not bothering to train properly, whislt turning up to fights looking like he just came out of a pub crawl. You don't know anything. Chisora bided his time for takam to fade. There were close rounds so it wasn't anywhere near a shutout. Parker lost tonight because he didn't do enough and allowed whyte to bully him. The scorecards were flattering to Dillion yes and maybe you could argue a draw but in no world did Parker do enough to win. We can even do a poll to see who is right on this if you wish?
Get out your little scrapbook again. Yes Hearn is always into Allen, he wants him to improve so he can make more money off him. Thats what promoters do if they trying to get a guy to headline or be headline support for a card. But at the end of the day, promoters love a guy like Allen, because they save their arse many times on short notice for minimal pay and maximum value. Please, Chisora caught him with a good and lucky shot. Delusional. David Higgins didn't do 9/11 mate, weve been over this, enough with the conspiracy thinking. Sure go ahead, start a poll. But only of people who actually scored the fight who know how to score a fight instead of those who just agree with commentary. Be my guest.
