That's true. But it seems Mikey is delusional. Or he's like a kid who hurts himself when he's upset. One way or another that Spence fight obsession is drawing him in like a black hole.
At 135 he has virtually no chance against Loma and at 147 , absolutely no chance whatsoever against Spence.
@Rumsfeld, @Babality, there is also a factor that a win over Spence would make Mikey an ATG, most probably — that would be an accomplishment, for sure, yes. I would also agree that stylistically Spence is easier for Garcia than Lomachenko.
I don't know. I think Lomachenko is excellent, and I think Mikey would pose a great challenge for him - one I can envision him winning, although I'd probably be inclined to favor Lomachenko myself. So while we may differ in the degree of our outlook, at least I think we have the same type of scale in play here.
It's really hard to tell whether Mikey wants go employ Brook/GGG strategy or he genuinely believes that he can beat Spence. I don't see him beating Lomachenko, but that's still probably a 60/40 fight, and Mikey is still the bigger, more powerful guy. Spence does have a style that is more favorable to the way Mikey fights, but Garcia has virtually no chance at all there. Spence is huge at 147. He is bigger, stronger and more powerful than anyone at welterweight. Garcia would get destroyed withing few rounds (if he doesn't wisely quit before getting seriously hurt).

Your comments doesn't match your name! If u had boxing IQ, u wouldn't say Lomachecnko easily beats Garcia. Garcia wins that fight. Garcia has all the tools to be Lomachecnko. Good speed, footwork, great timing, ring IQ and ring generalship. He's also bigger and stronger at 135 than Loma.
Garcia is a slow basic plodder. I think he would have a better chance against Spence because he would only be slightly slower than Spence being the smaller man. Lomachenko would dance circles around Garcia.
Really ? Seriosuly ? Comparing Brook moving up to fight Golovkin to Mikey vs Spence? First of all, Golovkin is a much bigger puncher than Spence. Second, Brook had nowhere near the chin / durability / combination punching ability that Mikey has. Mikey Garcia is far more equipped to beat Spence than Brook was vs Golovkin.
Ordinary? Are you kidding me? Mikey Garcia looked ordinary tonight? You cannot be serious. He put on an unbelievable performance. I think you're massively underrating how difficult of an opponent Easter was. I mean just the height and reach difference alone is hard to look good with that. Then you see how fast Easter's hand were and how skilled is was overall. Mikey had to figure this dude out and he fought this guy in the trenches putting punches together in spectacular fashion.
