    Sure, we can add Beyer.

    He was a good fighter.

I've not listed everyone, just enough of them to make my point.

I really only mentioned Branco, as Reid fought him straight after he'd fought Joe, and Reid was probably Joe's 2nd best win until he fought Lacy and Kessler.

Yeah, I dont think the Super Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions were that far apart in quality really, but the Light Heavyweights certainly had the bigger the names.

Though, this being said, I'm not sure James Toney's Light Heavyweight run really accounted for much in the grand schemes things since he didn't win any of the big titles and the only big-ish name he fought was Griffin who he lost to, both times - I mean, he really was kind of living on his past reputation and former glories by this stage in his career.

James was so frustrating to his fans.

You never knew which version was going to turn up.

I'm going to go back and watch the Griffin fights again.

Do you think he lost both of them?

It's a fact he did. In 1995 he challenged Griffin for the IBF Light Heavyweight Inter-Continental belt and lost by MD then in 1996 he rematched Griffin in defence of his WBU belt and lost by UD. It wasn't like they weren't competitive fights or anything but he didn't get the result.

Like I say, I'm going to go back and watch them again.

    How about Dariusz vs Toney?

Carl is a major ****. I've never been able to stand him. Good fighter though. Calzaghe beats him

Ottke was a greater SMW than Roy was

At the time when Froch fought Groves, Groves was fighting at the British/commonwealth level.
When Calzaghe fought Woodhall, woodhall was a world class fighter who was world rated and had been a SMW champ

Jones wasnt a SMW when Calzaghe was a SMW title holder and Calzaghe went up to LHW and beat the champ which is something Froch didnt do, so once again your argument is void.
also Calzaghe didnt pass on Jones. Jones decided against facing Calzaghe and understandably went for a bigger fight against ruiz at HW.
    You really dont know
So Lacy wasnt ruined and fought at the right time. Lol lol lol
He didnt fight at SMW again after Calzaghe beat him and fought a CW. Silly comment because Eubank was the Boxing News favourite and a top SMW. Thats like saying Spinks didnt win a fight again after Tyson. It was a good win, or saying Tyson didnt win a fight again after Williams, it doesnt remove that Williams was the underdog and caused a big shock, big enough to get a title shot from it.
Once again, you dont seem to really know what you are trying to debate.
Why debate something you are not aware of?
You say this, but dont go on to say Roy after that went the distance with Tarver the LHW champ and pushed him.
See how you are trying to be selective but in all this time are trying to talk about Calzaghe at LHW where he had 2 fights as if its a slur yet Froch never dared go to LHW even though I seem to recall reading he was mentioning about giving Pascal a rematch at LHW.
Once again you are trying to change the subject and talk about LHW whereas we are talking SMW.
Even if Hopkins didnt score a KO. Not sure what your point is? He still beat Pascal, Jones, Shumenov etc
Possibly because Calzaghe comprehensibly beat them but you are not correct even here. Bika won a world title when faded, Veit won a title fight and had claim to the WBO SMW title, Reid looked unfortunate against Ottke to many.
Besides Groves and Abraham who havent beat a top SMW (Degale and groves were still in the novice stage when they fought), who were all these SMWs you feel Froch beat that went on to do well at SMW.
Based on your logic above you cant consider Frochs wins over Bute and Kessler as very good either. Based on your flawed logic
As you say, went on. So wasnt then when Froch fought them.
So where was Ward P4P at the time? Wasnt top 3 and Calzaghe fought Hopkins when he was top 3, so you got that wrong as well lol
    See above, you self pwned.
Ward wasnt around when Calzaghe was but look at what you have wrote and then consider Calzaghe was thought of as P4P top 3 and Froch never got that far.
Not at SMW, which is where we are talking about. also Pascal lost to Hopkins who calzaghe had already beaten. You walked right into that.
Still Calzaghe beat a list of fighters who beat a fighter who won a title at SMW. We are talking SMW otherwise we have to credit Calzaghe as he beat Starie who beat undefeated Woods who won a LHW title, Veit who beat undefeated Brahmer who won a LHW title, Sheika who beat prime Johnson who won a LHW title, Woodhall who beat Branco who won a LHW title, Mitchell who drew with Girard who won a LHW title. We are talking SMW not LHW. Some fighters arent as effective at other weights
Oh but see your logic above. Kessler didnt win another fight and look at where Kessler was in his career how he had been inactive etc and look at what you wrote above. to say you have owned yourself is an understatement
Why were either hype jobs. they got badly beaten. It can ruin some fighters. Many fighters lose a fight and struggle to find form after.
They were good wins at the time

    He doesnt.
He is a poster who is making comments about something he really doesnt know anything about.
Its funny how these people dont know someones career or anything about the fights at the time they happened but think there clueless opinions count for something

    Thats the logic.
You explain this and they cant see it and think its fan bias which just makes them look more ridiculous

I didnt say better. You did. I wrote Ottke was a greater SMW.
You are letting those emotions take over
    What if?
    That didnt happen silly
You have to look at the wins. I could argue Ottke has better stats than Eubank but overall Eubank to me has the better SMW resume
That is no more than your opinion. Not one I agree with but opinions no less

    No he wasn't.

He just accomplished more at the weight.

That doesn't mean he was the better fighter.

Nobody but you would claim that Sven was better than Roy.

I asked you the following question:

If Joe had moved up to LHW much earlier than he did, and Ottke had the better stats, who in your mind would have been the best SMW between them both?

It wouldn't have mattered if Joe had only made half of the defences that Sven made. Because we can clearly see that he was the better fighter.

Andre Ward was also a better SMW than Sven.

I know what both you and Bailey are getting at in terms of Ottke and RJJ.

But I ask you a question who do consider the better fighter Lewis or RJJ?

So you agree, Ottke was a greater SMW

Didnt say he was or wasnt. I wrote he was a greater SMW and then you agree he accomplished more lol
Once again you are trying to alter what I wrote. I havent claimed anything other than saying Ottke was a greater SMW. The rest has been done by you lol.

Didnt Ottke beat prime G Johnson who beat Jones...?
    Why are you saying best?
Tell me when Calzaghe would have allegedly moved up and I will answer

What 10 and a half defences? How would that work?
Depends who they were against. Not sure why you are even saying this when I said I rated Eubanks resume higher than Ottkes and he had less defences

Im not convinced at all that Ward was. I dont know if Ward would have faced a boxer mover like ottke. Ward never showed interest in facing them and Ottke falls into that category.
    I would have favoured Ottke
