From my recollection, Lomachenko had a similiar stance as Spence regarding fighting a smaller man. Slightly different circumstance with Arum blocking the fight at featherweight initially by lowballing Rigondeaux after both fighters had agreed to the weight. Later the Ukrainian stated several times that Rigondeaux was too small for 130, but the Cuban kept asking so he took the easy payday, as will Spence. It's a decent payday and a name, that's it. The wins won't mean a thing without the smaller man having proven himself at the weight first.

Spence is clearly a 154lber fighting at 147 but i dont really have an issue with it. What i do have an issue with is him actually entertaining the idea of a fight with Mikey when there are bigger fish to fry. Now dont get me wrong Mikey has been the one calling him out so if both fighters want the fight then you might as well make it happen as its something lots of fans want to see but i think its a bad idea for mikey at this point considering hes never even fought at 147lbs. Fighting Bum Broner at 144 is a whole lot easier than fighting Spence at 147

Mikey is a coward. This is a clear duck of Lomachenko. He’s expected to lose to Spence so it’s a no loss situation. I’m still excited to see Garcia against Spence since it’s Garcia first proper challenge but it is what it is, a clear duck of Lomachenko.

 

You can call it a duck afterwards, as of right now there is zero chance the fight is happening because of surgery. So going after Spence is not a duck.

Behind all this also exists politics. It bothers you that he is fighting Spence, but why doesn't it bother you that the post fight interview did not bring up Loma's name, no one did not even the commentators. The whole thing was practically scripted, and everyone was in on it.

I understand that you can't go a day without covering yourself in body lotion, enriched with Loma's spicy food special dairhea fermented over 2 years, but just this once, lay off it for a bit will ya.

We all want to see him fight Loma over Spence. As of right now it can't happen for more than one reason.

 

If Mikey insists in fighting Spence and Spence refuses; it's a duck. Spence is ducking a "little man"

If Mikey is so small then why was he willing to go to 154lbs to fight Cotto? Clearly weight is not an issue for Mikey and he has said several times he wanted to fight at WW. Also, Mikey's dad prefer Mikey fight Pac instead of Spence, so that should tell you, WW is not a problem for him.

On another side note, JMM was a "little man" after he fought Mayweather and lost, not before. In cases like Loma, Mayweather and Spence where someone who is below your weight insist on fighting you, shouldn't be called a "bully". In cases like ODLH dragging someone 2 weight classes below you to fight you, now that is a bully. Spence wasn't asking for the fight, as a matter of fact, he is seeking other WW. Mikey has the option of fighting Loma or Linares or staying in 140 to get all the belts. He would rather fight Spence. IMO, Mikey should fight Loma first then get another belt at 140 before moving up but that is just me.
