Yes, although he may be willing to go further than other promoters with this one as he's got DAZN's budget and he's looking to make some headline grabbing nights.

I don't think this would be destined for US PPV. Wilder's never appeared on PPV and Whyte doesn't have US name recognition. It would be one of his 4 per annum 'monster' nights on DAZN. Hopefully making sufficient noise to drive acquisitions and help build the eventual AJ Wilder fight or make AJ Whyte 2 for the undisputed title depending on outcome.

 

Wilder should see that Whyte is very very beatable and take this money. He'd be a massive favorite in this. And if he wins it just increases his market value for a showdown vs. AJ.

Whyte is a far more credible opponent and Wilder will earn 3-4 maybe 5 times his average purse.

Ok first off, you don't know the specifics of the contract or how it was worded so don't speak like you're in the know. By all accounts, both sides mention there was no venue or date in place and Wilder thought it was too ambiguous of a contract to sign. Hearn mentioned also that there was no exact date or venue put on the contract, so both sides have essentially said the same thing.

I think most of Whyte's fans and blind supporters of Eddie Hearn are "brick walls" as you so eloquently put it. This isn't some kind of convoluted algorithm; it's basic business 101. Eddie Hearn has two known HW's in his stable in AJ and Whyte and he wants to maximize the revenue he can make out of the both fighters. All he's doing is squeezing as much profit possible at this juncture since AJ is clearly the A-side in any event.

He wants Wilder to fight Whyte to allow Joshua to continue making high profit margins for him by taking on guys less deserving than Deontay. On the flipside, I'm sure he's hoping Whyte can upset Wilder so that he can have his wish of a Whyte-AJ rematch for all the belts and keep all the money in house.

He doesn't care about what the fans want, he wants to fatten his own pockets and maximize the profit returns. It's unbelievable how dense some posters are here; I'm not even a fan of Deontay but to give the guy flack for wanting to unify the division rather than take on a contender makes no sense to me.

And once again, why would Wilder be scared of Whyte? It's amazing how your fanbase overrates your guys. I guess I understand, your island hasn't really produced that many great fighters in the history of the sport, you have to cling onto this fictitious golden era of British boxing. The bias on this board is just repulsive.
