Frampton and Warrington would do better than average, I would think

 

Ide be a bit gutted if they lose ufc. I enjoy watching it on a Sunday morning not knowing the results. Jumping around then living room at 8 am when d.c knocked stipe out a few weeks ago good times

 

I really think that if you asked the average man/woman on the street who know the likes of AJ, Haye, Khan, Fury etc, very few would have heard of either.

 

Thought the UFC would have been a roaring success for them, in fact I thought it was one of the reasons they brought in BT Box Office, for Till and McGregor.

 

The big problem with UFC has always been and always will be the time difference. On the odd occasion when we get fights in the UK and Europe broadcast at a reasonable hour they're sub-par cards.
For so many (though not me) watching sporting events that have been recorded and are not live is not the same.

 

Because BT didn't give him money for more shows but that is understandable as SKY subscribers are falling too.

 

You can't compare BT Sport Boxing to sports like the UFC. Sports that come on in the early hours will always pull poor figures.

Boxing on a prime time Saturday night can be a big pull, with the right fights. Particularly, with how well Sky and Matchroom are doing. The market for boxing has been increased hugely.

 

The problem in my opinion is that even though I agree there is a better pull for an audience on a Saturday night through Boxing you have to have the right headliner to do it with and the only headliners I can see Fwank having is a Fury v AJ or Whyte or a BJS v GGG or Canelo atm and the chances of BT getting any of those in the UK at a decent hour is slim going on impossible. But it seems BT are happy plodding along in the hope that in a couple of years time the tide will change. Let’s see........

 

UFC does good numbers. McGregor has done 300,000+.

BT as a group have just decided stop with the crazy spending. UFC tried to create a bidding war and BT decided they were not gonna spend take part so just walked away from the bidding process.

 

History informs us that two subscription sports providers is not sustainable - we have been there with ITV Digital and Setanta Sports. The UK public usually stick to the best out of the two and the other eventually folds.

Sky and BT have ceased bidding wars together with better pricing for customers from Jan 2019 for subscribers to both provider's sports channels.

The gravy train reached the station in 2017 and the penny dropped with both.
