If this fight doesn't happen in their prime it will be almost as bad as Pac-Mayweather not happening in their prime.

Boxing has sunken to unimaginable lows. The days when the best always aimed for the best are long gone. Most fighters (not all) put too much weight on Risk/Reward.

I'd heavily favour a Loma UD here.

This. If an old Salido can time Loma and a featherfisted and less skilled Linares can knock Loma down Mikey definitely has a good chance.

The only problem I have with Mikey is he sometimes head hunts too much. Salido was smart and went to Loma's body early and limited Loma's mobility. If Mikey goes to the body early Loma wil have a very tough fight on his hands.

Also, Loma like most guys that rack up too many amateur fights is very rigid and fights in a rthym, which could end up working in Mikey's favor.

I understand that a lot of people buy into the fallacy that Mikey is a puncher, into the fallacy that Mikey has elite skills. A lot of guys look the goods when they don’t fight anybody. When Mikey has slightly stepped it up he has looked average and lost rounds. There’s a perception that Mikey is big guy with elite skills. He’s a big head with average skills. All the signs are there for people who know and pay attention.

I don’t know what the oddsmakers will have it as, and I don’t care. I know boxing, I know styles and I’ve been watching Lomachenko since ‘08. It’s a complete mismatch, just like I said GRJ and Walters would be. The oddsmakers didn’t agree with me then either.

Loma was a huge favorite vs Walters. Go look it up.
Loma GRJ odds were pretty close. Good job seeing that as a mismatch.
Mikey is not average. Thats where your eyes are failing you.
He’s top 10 pound for pound. Those guys are not average.

Those shots were on the belt line. Also, Linares is featherfisted and has poor durability. Linares couldn't put a dent in DeMarco, who Broner completely crushed. Not to mention the other times Linares was easily stopped.

Loma is very rigid. In the Salido fight he didn't adapt very well and easily dropped 7-8 rounds to Salido. He had no answer for Salido's pressure or accurate body punching. Loma only started picking up rounds later in the fights because Salido started to gas in the 9th round due to age. That said Loma won 5 rounds at best and Salido earned a UD, but because of Loma's backing the judges almost gave it to Loma anyway.

Loma's matchmaking hasn't included a durable pressure fighter or skilled puncher ever since his loss for a reason.

Mikey is a damn good boxer that has solid timing, excellent power, and a gold standard team behind him.

Problem is that he's concrete footed and has slow hands. Loma is a boxing phenom. He'll use his speed, legs and angles to dominate.
