Mayweather made more against McGregor than Joshua has in all of his fights combined to date.

So, not by a long shot.

AJ must already be the bbiggest earner in boxing history after Mayweather. Only way AJ could overtake Mayweather is if his form continues for the next 3 to 5 years.

Two problems with that theory. One Wilder can`t box and Joshua can. Two Ortiz looks quite good against fighters he can push onto the back foot and intimidate, won`t happen with Joshua. Here endeth the lesson.

That`ll be Wilder. Gutted that he lost unexpectedly and never accepted the biggest offer of his career to fight AJ and complaining that promoters and managers ripped him off.

There's only two big money fights left for him in the current division. Usyk coming up to HW would be a big fight but not a huge fight financially.

There is a chance. Not likely by purses, not without us PPV revenue which may never happen. He'd need US opponents and the cupboard is pretty bare. Given boxing's decline it may be that no one ever again earns what Mayweather did from us PPV. However, there are other routes.

Building AJ into a global brand, in the same way that Michael Jordan or David beckham achieved could see AJ earning significant sums way after he hangs up his gloves. Beckham wasn't the best footballer of his era by a long shot but he earned something like 30m used last year 7 or so years after hanging up his boots.

If AJ becomes undisputed expect him to box in Asia and Africa as well as US and Europe. If he proves an effective commercial partner in multiple markets expect his already growing commercial revenue to skyrocket very quickly.

Exploiting his marketing strength in this period of new platforms and market churn could also prove lucrative. Think beckham getting the Miami MLS franchise. Does AJ have a slice of Matchroom included in this new deal? How have DAZN wooed him? Get in at the ground floor and it's a success and he could quickly become very well rewarded.

Barry Hearn says they have a plan for AJ to earn a billion dollars. There's always hype where he and his son are concerned, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility.

Would need to start bringing in US PPV numbers, and to do that he has to fight, and beat Wilder in Vegas

Every fight is a big money fight for AJ, the fans turn out in huge numbers to see the champ.

You don't get to make ATG money if you fight nothing but Povetkins and only fight in Europe. Voidimir Bitchko already proved that. AJ gonna follow that model and make **** all while Fury and Wilder take over the division.

    Possible.
The British public seems to want to pay extra for whoever he fights, kinda like the Floyd situation.
If he can keep it up long enough, and maybe have 3 threesome with Wilder and/or Fury, he might make it.

It's basically about what his fans want to pay to see him.

I can't see it. I think the absoloute MAX they could make out of a uk fight, factoring in 95,000 at Wembley, the best ppv buy rate, sponsorship and international tv rights.

The BEST would be 50 mil usd. And tbh that would be unlikely (but not impossible) and that 50m isn't all going to Joshuas purse.

But floyd made considerably more for practically every fight.
