Everything is gonna betray Mikey if he gets in there with Spence. He has nothing to deter Spence. Spence is relentless and ruthless. He's just too big and his skillset is on par or better than Mikey's. If he don't break Mikey's body, he's gonna break his face. Something is gonna give. Spence don't wear down and his chin is stellar. Mikey quite simply done talked himself into a serious ass whoopin.

He's also talked and fought himself into a career high payday. There is no shame in losing to a larger man in a competitive fight. No down side for Garcia.

All money ain't good money and I don't think it's the money that's driving Mikey but rather his desire to be ranked among the very best in history. I think that he is just too small for 147 and any of the top guys will beat him because of that. I think that he feels that he might as well get beat by Spence if he is gonna get beat anyways.

Clearly Garcia's team believes there's something in Spence they can take advantage of in a big way.

The question is, are they right?

Consider the fact that Garcia will make as much as all of Spence's previous opponents combined, I'd say it's worth it.

I think he does too but I think that he is wrong. My understanding is that it was the Peterson fight that gave him the confidence that he could beat Spence. I honestly think that he made a bad call but you never know. The only thing I know for sure is that I won't bet a dime for a dollar on Mikey.

of course mikey has a chance, dude is at the top level as far as skills, but spence is no ordinary welter, he could cut careers short. ive been saying for over a year that he should have been going after danny, who he would beat the chit out of, because it would sell big with the mexican-puerto rican rivalry and it promises to be exciting at a high level. it would also help him acclimate to welter, and builds anticipation for a spence or crawford showdown. heck, he could fight pac right now for more money than he will get for spence, favorite to win and become a worldwide sports star.
i dont know who, if anyone, is advising him from outside his bubble, with his best interests in mind, but he needs somebody.
i havent really studied what spence does wrong, cause hes my favorite fighter and i mostly hug a bit of nut, but im going to rewatch the peterson fight, which i predicted would be a surrender, and see what i can come up with for mikey to hang his hopes on.

rewatched some footage of spence with a critical eye, and saw little outside the obvious. i do think spence is susceptible to straight rights, especially when hes pawing with his jab. when he punches, he has a tendency to **** his other elbow behind him for balance, dropping his glove and leaving his head exposed to counters.
mikey should just make sure he is always outside spences lead foot and instantly create some space after he counters. spence has great footwork, its quick, but its on a line, mikey needs to always move laterally to spences right, and never stay too long on the inside.
the more i consider this fight, the more competitive i think it could be. i still favor spence, but mikey fighting the fight of his life is also possible.
