Ohara is a strong kid, who has power without a doubt. If he lands sweet on Catterall he could hurt him so I can see why you think Davies could beat him, mate.

Against Taylor, I saw a fighter who can only win one way. There was no plan B or C. When he realised plan A was ineffective and he was up against it, he looked for a way out and even ended up on the canvas from a jab. He quit. I’m not sure what he would have gained from that experience in terms of skill because he wanted out, his attitude was poor.

I think Catterall stops him quicker than Taylor did.

When I first watched the Davies vs Taylor fight I thought Taylor schooled him but I rewatched and it was a competitive fight until Davies got caught cold few times.

Fair enough, you’ve made a bold prediction right there, if you get it right I’ll take my hat off. I’m gunna go Davies UD, I think Catterall will hit the canvas too, I’m not ruling out a stoppage.

With that being said Catterall can win if he fights a disciplined fight I just don’t trust him to do what he needs to.

Davies reminds me of Eubank Jr, has more power in his relative division, but is very basic crude, has poor footwork and will always struggle against good fighters.

I think P4P wise Eubank is better, he faster, he has a wider arsenal of punchers, better defence on the inside. However I know what you mean in terms of excellent boxers will soundly beat both men due to their limitations. However they make for fun fights coz they go for it.

I agree m8 though unlike Eubank Davies has an equalizer in his hands that always give him a chance of pulling of the upset.

Well he does at british level but will it work at world level, against Taylor he was able to withstand the power.

Catterall isn’t world level though... (well he hasn’t proven so, so far).

Oh i wasnt saying he was, he is euro level imo just like Ohara. I'm picking Ohara to beat him by UD probably drop a couple of times too.

Yes Taylor slipped them well. I am not saying that Davies will beat any of the top guys in the division like Taylor, what i am saying is he has a chance. Taylor is 10x better than him but rest assured if Davies landed his best shot clean the upset would have happened.

Yeah i agree bro, I don’t think Taylor is 10x better Lool that’s abit harsh. It was dominant performance in a competitive fight. I think Davies did land as clean as you are gunna get because at the top level usually fighters will never allow you to get a clean big shot unless you have them seriously hurt or something.

Davies did well in there but he hadn’t had the fights to get him ready for an opponent like Taylor.

I dont think it was a competitive fight m8. I tbink some small parrs wrre purely as Taylor decided to stay in pocket and exchange, which was risky. But for the large part Taylor toyed with him.

Your spot on. The problem Davies has is one that is the norm with fighters with poor footwork, they struggle to fight in a diffetent way as so much depends on a boxers footwork. Would love to know how much time Davies and Eubank for example spent doing footwork drills compared to punching ones. I have a feeling it will be at least 90/10% punching drills.
