Ortiz, and I would have said that before the Wilder fight, because before he fought Wilder, I was a Ortiz fanboy, and he's kind of a stylistic nightmare for AJ.
Joshua KO in 2nd half of fight. Joshua's biggest weaknesses are his stamina and inability to cut off the ring well. Ortiz doesn't throw a lot and Ortiz is a plodder. He won't make him gas and he can't move well enough to make Joshua look human like Parker and Takam did. Joshua will respect Ortiz's power and won't just go in all guns blazing knowing he could be countered, he'll gradually break him down behind his improved jab and make the smaller Ortiz be the one to take chances by reaching in and then counter the counter puncher.
Joshua. Against Wilder, Ortiz was the more physical guy and really he was able to control the fight to some extent, but against Joshua it's a whole different ball game. Against AJ he has to rely on boxing skills. But his movement isn't out of this world like a Tyson Fury or Usyk's would be, therefore he leaves himself vulnerable to AJ. I'd expect a fight where AJ is in control, bullies Ortiz to a ko mid rounds, maybe round 5.
Joshua TKO 7-12. Joshua would always be in control with his jab, fight would look at short periods like a counterpunching slugfest where the bigger, stronger, faster and younger guy in Joshua would always has the better outcome of the exchanges, can't see how this fight would be a stylistic nightmare for Joshua, it takes speed, great movement and power to beat Joshua, Ortiz has only one of those 3 things. Ortiz won't be the guy to defeat Joshua, Wilder and maybe Fury could, nobody else.
FFS Ortiz is 98 years old, our boy wouldn't beat up a man that old with a heart condition. It's immoral.
Allen still coming forward in the 10th. This content is protected Allen stopped trying to come forward by the 1st. This content is protected Denigrate him all you want, you know you're all full of ****. AJ come forward? Mr. Cautious ain't about that life.
Ortiz by brutal ko! Pub boys will drink the cool aid after and we will never hear some coward b.s anymore
Ortiz a plodder? He is by far one of the craftier heavyweights around. By that standard they are all plodders.
If you use this argument for AJ v Wilder you would have to say it would be a walk over by AJ given comparing both of their fights against Molina.. AJ just smashing him out like a fly but Wilder had trouble so who do you think has more power?? Compare those two fights in isolation you would have to say AJ, he destroyed Molina compared to Wilder... In fairness to Whyte I think his shoulder injury took a long time to get back to 100% so we can take anything between AJ and Browne out of the equation.. He has surprised me in his last two fights and I suspect he is now at 100%... Sorry for rambling at bit but I'd say if Allen fought Whyte fight now he would no way see the final bell...
If AJ fight Ortiz similar to how he fought Parker then it who would be a dull fight of cat and mouse... you have to factor in both guys power and I don’t think neither guy would want to get hit.. I’m leaning towards AJ 7-5 due to his youth.. The fight that interest me the most in HW is Ortiz vs Whyte.. Whyte is a bruising brawler with brute physical strength but how would that play out vs a powerful tactician as Ortiz.. will he walk into counters all day or do he smother Ortiz like a Shawn Porter win..
We know now AJ has no qualms about fighting boring to get the win and yes I agree that he would play a very defensive fight not wanting to get hit... Ortiz doesn't go too well if he has to make the action and he only really got Wilder in trouble because Wilder thought he got Ortiz hurt so he went in unprotected... Otherwise there was long periods of both Wilder and Ortiz starting at eachother.. I think AJ would jab his way to a boring UD...
