How did Larry act? Most guys are nice. The guy some people think is not nice is Evander Holyfield.

2 things when he got inducted.
    1. He pissed off a woman who ask for his autograph, like he wanted to charge for it, I heard he apologized and explained himself, but that led to #2.

He went off on the folks that run the BHOF & asked- what do U guys do with all this money you're making off us boxers?
He laid it out, Dinner $135 dollar banquet. Then they have an auction, where they may sell boxing gloves with great names autographed...I saw one go for like $1500 (SOLD)...

    $85 for golf and BBQ,
Larry Holmes: "BBQ don't cost no damn $85. Hell I don't play golf. and U don't let the fans play with the boxers on the course...they come after..."

Another price for Friday night at Rust Ale House (I forgot how much as that changes every year, Fiesta Mexican Boxing night one year-saw Morales, Night of rising stars-saw Chad D another year, etc)

And like $45 meet and greet on Saturday, They sell Classic Ring magazine issue at a High School and U need tickets to get into that.. I saw a WBC belt for sale like $1300...

and even need tickets to go into the HOF itself which is a small building on the grounds. The Grounds is free, where they will have fighters training, Saw Hector Camacho on Speed Bag, Chad Dawson hitting the Heavy Bag, Christy Martin & Sergio Martinez & Andre Berto & P Williams another year Kotstya Tszy was in the ring shadow dancing, sparring with a fan..

Damn call me livingstone Ramble,,,sorry for Rambling!! Long story short Holmes made a lot of sense -its just he didn't convey it right. Came across... well like a bitter old Holmes.

Side note- Holy was cool with me, back around 1992 or so, I was security for an R&B singer Luther Vandross.
Holy and the Wrestler Zues were back stage..man I was sweatin' bullets when I had to tell them You can't be back here.

Zues was a..... But Holy was cool about it and went back to his limo.

Bramble admitted to being involved with dogfighting back in the day. Always bothered me. Hopefully he's a better person now.

Bramble was a good fighter with a style that was difficult for many fighters but not unbeatable....with Mancini his style was perfect as he had a high guard that was perfect for Mancini's hooks, narrow punching style up the middle again perfect for Mancini's wide body and punching style....he beat alot of good fighters but lost some fights that caught many off guard when Rosario caught him the focus reshifted from Bramble being the guy to the talent of Rosario who had been one of the hardest all time punchers at 135 with skill and speed to boot...his star fell pretty fast after that loss but he was a world class guy

I think someone called Bramble "Coconut Head" .....because hitting Bramble in the head was like
hitting a rock the opponent boxer said.

That isn't rambling at all. That is a great story. We need more stories like that. Good information. Larry has no right to question people. It takes money to run any organization and to bring it up like that and putting people on the spot is typical Larry. Someone should have asked him why he continued to sing with such a terrible group he put together. Actually the group of musicians he had was ok. Larry was just a terrible singer. It is funny about the autographs. I remember hearing Hearns was at one of those conventions where they charge to get autographs and he was signing people's autographs in the bathroom for those who didn't have money to attend. That is one of the reasons I like Tommy.

I followed Bramble as well .. if there was any boxer who succeeded because of his jab , it was Bramble. And man it was a good one ..not talked about often but it was one of the best, imo..sure he was tough but even Ras-I will tell you, if it wasn't for my jab , you never would have heard of me

He also practiced witchcraft I believe … I've sailed the Caribbean twice and let me tell you those islanders are basically cut off from the rest of the world .. They are strong, cut and most live off the land, taking care of an island, through hard manual labor in the hot sun. A lot of them carry around there work machetes and man I have never felt so intimidated in my entire life ..

I think he claimed that he got thumbed (badly) in the Rosario fight, fwiw.

I thought he deserved the win against Carr.

He was hit in the eye with something if not a thumb, but Rosario might have just hit that hard. It was a left uppercut in the 2nd round. Rosario was not missing at all and it wouldn't have made a difference. Bramble was demolished. It was amazing to see Bramble one of the top fighters at the time completely dismantled, and once Rosario started to land it was just worse and worse with momentum. Bramble had no where to do but down. Stylistically Rosario could not miss with anything. Yet I think Mancini fights him better than Bramble did. I guess that would not be too hard to do.

Kostya fought bramble on the way up (can't recall watching that) n won on points,
Then Shannon Taylor KOs him in the 1st ( I remember that one) n they were trying to make a big deal about it to fuel the rivalry with tszyu.
I actually felt sorry for bramble, he was that far over the hill.
