It may well be a 99% done deal but waiting for the Fury-Pianeta fight to seal it.

Gotcha...Fury sucks, so the only good fighters are AJ and whoever he's fighting...10-4.

No Fury doesn't suck, we just don't know what he has left, just how good he is now after everything he has been through because he hasn't been tested yet and he has had a long spell of inactivity.

Let's remember, when Fury beat Klitschko it was the Wilder/US fans absolutely slaughtering the win and saying Klitschko was done, he was terrible and some said he was now shot.

They also slaughtered Fury, said his resume was poor and had one win against a faded champion blah blah blah and most British fans defended Fury, some didn't.

Now these same people want to make Fury out to be some sort modern day great. Why? Because it makes Wilder look better. It's see through and embarrassing.

And as for AJ, no, his opponents are not all great, some not even good, who said they were? But compared to Wilders opponents they are better, AJ has a better resume that's all.

I don't know where Wilder-Breazeale is supposed to fit in the schedule though.
That's the only part that makes me seriously doubt this being real.

    Really the only part?

There's little or nothing in either guys record to suggest this is real.

There's little or nothing in the previously published plans of either man to suggest this is real.

Wtf other than this talk is making you think this has any substance whatsoever?

Because it's a big fight and can make them big money.
Both of them are in need of a big fight and big money.
That's the name of the game.
Frank Warren is probably under some pressure to produce a massive boxing event for BT Sport Box Office and is personally driven to compete with Hearn/AJ/SKY in the world/UK heavyweight division.

Wilder probably sees Fury of now as a very winnable fight, possibly a soft touch. Fury's at least 12 months away from being fully tuned-up, and probably will never get back to where he was in 2015. Fury isn't a concussive puncher, generally. It's a fight Wilder can take and win, and gives him huge leverage against Hearn and AJ to re-negotiate.
Wilder will take a huge cut from the Fury fight, a huge purse, by far his best career payday ever.

Fury is just stupidly confident. He probably rates himself as better than a 39 year old Luis Ortiz, even in the shape he is in now ….. and who knows, he might even be right.
Again, we're talking about a career-high-payday for Fury, and leverage to negotiate with AJ if he wins.

Agree with the above pretty much however...

Forget what Fury says and look at what he's done. He's told Hearn he wants 4 bums in his comeback. He's said the same thing to Warren who has previously sketched out this 4 fight BT contract as building towards more dangerous opponents towards the end. Nothing about a title shot.

Fury is a student of boxing and is well aware of what happened to Ali who rushed into a title shot in his 3rd fight back. Fury has been gone a similar time and got in worse shape.

If he loses he's not in a good place, unless he puts up a great show and although he's a good boxer, he doesn't have a TV friendly style which is likely to win him new fans in the US.

One way this would add up is if Fury and his team think the fire's burnt out and he'll never be serious contender again. In that case a cash out would make sense sooner rather than later.

Still don't think this will happen. Think this is about boosting each man's profile for other more likely match ups.

Come on, you should you're not going to get away with publishing garbage when I'm around.

Let's get it right shall we....

Fury took on the 11 year undefeated super champion Wladimir Klitschko in dusseldorf when no one expected him to win.

He didn't need for Klitschko to fight him in the uk with his own ref and own judges.

Wilder is just coming off a win against one of the most avoided and feared punchers in the division in Ortiz.

These two are real champions, who earned their belts the right way. They didn't pay their opponents 5 mil to hand over the belt as a gift.

It’s funny that no one seems to think this fight is legit, but it seems to be the real deal.

Props to them making it happen.

sort of what I think. He lost his will to fight for a long time, now he is fighting Wilder after one fight in. He needs a few more fights.
