Very true but Ortiz beats Whyte and Parker and this is due to HW being more hyped up than people are making it out to be as you say. It’s really not a good division.
He's not nearly as dangerous as people are making him out to be. If Wilder were fighting him he'd be an old, shot bum.
Not in the top 3 anymore. Joshua, Wilder, Miller, Parker are all better. Similar level to Whyte and Ortiz.
Miller better than Whyte and Ortiz ? Based on what ? Parker better than Whyte ? You do know that Parker lost against Whyte ?
Its Heavyweight boxing and any Heavyweight who can bang has a chance and Povetkin can bang. I am not pretending Povetkin is amazing but what I don't think people are getting is I don't believe Joshua is amazing either. So I do believe it's a dangerous fight for Joshua, I do think AJ will win but I wouldn't be surprised if Povetkin pulls off an upset. If that's overrating Povetkin the OK I'm overrating Povetkin.
Anyone expecting him to beat Joshua is over rating the current Povetkin. He's dangerous because he can punch but he obviously past his best days. But having said that I don't think this is a cake walk for Joshua, if he decides to trade with Povetkin then he could very well find himself taking some hard shots. But eventually AJ will land that uppercut and it will be lights out. It will be entertaining while it lasts but in the end I expect a crushing victory for Joshua. As to how good Povetkin is right now. I'd say he's definitely a top 5 heavyweight, in fact top 3 for me. Joshua Wilder Povetkin Ortiz Whyte Fury Parker Breazeale Miller Hughie Fury With Ortiz and Parker losing and Tyson Fury still not looking close to his old self the only fighters that you could argue rank above him are Joshua, Wilder and maybe Whyte but personally I think Povetkin KO's Whyte. Look what Chisora did to Whyte, how does the harder hitting more technical Povetkin do? Styles makes fights and an aggressive pressure fighter like Povetkin is all wrong for Whyte.
Povetkin beats Parker and Whyte on the same night. 60/40 favourite over Ortiz, and would beat current Fury as well. Wilder is a 50/50 fight. Joshua is a slight favourite but not by much.
Totally! A real SASHA (by the name of Usyk) has literally overtaken and made the fake Sasha (Povetkin) irrelevant and useless in the current heavyweight division. I'd expect Usyk to brutally KO tiny, pudgy, chubby and weak little Povetkin inside 12 rounds and also school Joshua 12-0 rounds, both on the same night. Povetkin and Joshua are both equally overrated! Povetkin vs Joshua is an irrelevant, meaningless and a nonsensical fight. Anything short of Joshua literally putting Povetkin into a state of unconsciousness within the first few seconds of the first round whilst also reducing years from that little midget's life, would have to be considered an ASTRONOMICAL and an OTHER WORLDLY type of a failure from Joshua. A standing / referee TKO stoppage isn't good enough. A decision win isn't sufficient enough. Needing multiple rounds to get the KO also isn't good enough. It has to literally be a first round, brutal KO where Povetkin is totally unconscious and can't get back to his feet for the count whatsoever. That's how big a mismatch this bout really is!
Based on eyes and brains (critical thinking, logic), which is something people (especially boxing fans) don't use enough of. Perhaps they are not capable of it. I would make Miller a favourite over both Whyte and Ortiz. If Whyte and Parker were to rematch under fair rules, I would make Parker the favourite, despite Whyte officially winning in the first fight.
How about we do a bet? If Joshua stops Povetkin in round 1, I give you £10. Any other result I get £10. Based on your reasoning, that would be acceptable odds for you.
He is not overrated at all... Has an olympic medal, great amateur background, not a bad professional career. He can surprise anyone even at that age.
