    I favor Charles in competitive fights at both weights. Some will see Spinks outweighed him at heavyweight and automatically go that way of course.

    Charles is probably the #1 at 175 and Spinks not too far behind on the list.

    You know, I thought that too, but I'm not so sure after seeing him beat Walcott twice. Walcott was a shade under 200 pounds and was more muscular and solid at 195 pounds than Spinks at 205 lbs. I'd be willing to bet that Walcott at 194-196 was physically stronger than a heavyweight Spinks and had a similar skill level. I think Walcott would match Larry Holmes in pure physical strength.

    At 175 I pick Charles, at heavyweight, I think Spinks with his added size would be more dangerous to Charles, but I still pick Charles.

    Spinks fought a few terrific light heavyweights .. Mustafa Muhammad and Qwai .. That said I favor Charles who was exceptional .. two top five light heavyweights ..

    Potentially one of the greatest fantasy matches that could ever be made. I’m inclined to picking spinks by decision at light heavyweight while going with the opposite result at heavy. I think Charles was more proven at heavyweight by the number of fights and big wins he had there than spinks was. He also seemed to maintain more of his mobility. As for ratings ? Charles higher across the board
