He rocked him and he was one punch from stopping him. Kovalev owes that ref for giving his fans some sort of excuse that Kovalev did not win. He was rocked and was going to be knocked out.

This will be the battle of the jab, Alvarez has a good one.

I though Alvarez meant "redhead" in Spanish...

Kovo belly does look soft. Especially around the love handle

He wanted it against Ward and was stopped. He is a frontrunner sort of. Does well when he should, but when he has resistance he folds a little. Maybe this young man Alvarez can land a right hand and stop him. I doubt it, but Kovalev can be hit and hurt.

Hopefully Kovalev worked on defending his body, since Alvarez is already going to the body.

    Round 1 Kovalev 10-9

Feel out round, Kovalev keeping him at the end of his jab, and landed a few to the body.

Kovalev was up on the scorecards and was losing a round and maybe fading. That's not the same as being about to be knocked out. He might have gotten a second wind and finished the fight on top. He might have gotten lucky with his power and knocked Ward out. We don't know because Ward low blowed Kovalev enough to get disqualified but the ref called it a knockout.

he outboxed him but has two losses against him? That makes sense. Kovalev was second to Ward in two different ways and two different fights.
