Alvarez Beat Kovalev in Spectacular fashion, what does that say about Ward's 2 fights?

Alvarez deserves huge credit for taking out SK the way he did. He looks like and reminds me of a black El Chino( that's Marcus Maidana for those who don't know).

I say this because he beat SK at his own game. He stood up to his punches without needing to hold, bull rush or look to the ref to stop SK from working.

We all know the SK that fought Ward was drinking 96% ABV Russian vodka every day of the week, was paranoid of his trainers who were conspiring against him because they wanted out but didn't want to leave the pay cheque and barely trained as a result.

We know that Jackson was sending Ward's team critical intel on their plans for the fight, alongside a breakdown on SK's strengths and weaknesses.

We can see SK won the first fight between them and we can honestly say Ward was on his way to winning the 2nd fight before he couldn't help himself from cheating as he seems to get a kick out of winning the wrong way.

Alverez didn't have those luxuries, this was a reinvigorated Sergey Kovavel with a camp that he trusted whilst sober in body, mind and spirit. However we cannot ignore the fact he has lost his aura, his confidence from all the screwjobs that have been carried out against him, nevertheless he still possesses frightening power and you could see he hurt Alvarez on numerous occasions, yet Alvarez took his medicine like a man instead of resorting to butchering his opponent with headbutts and elbows and still marched forward to do what he had to do.

Not only that but he knocked SK out legitimately. No dodgy decisions, no bribes, no spying on camps, just hard honest work and clean fighting.

I'd love to see this guy put Yarde on the hitlist next, to take him out the same way.

 

He deserves more credit because he actually stood toe to toe with SK and more or less fought SK's fight and won.

Ward ran, hid, elbowed, and low blowed to claw his way to victory in the rematch.

He lost the first fight, so how can he get credit for a loss?

 

That's true if you can find a way to win without taking needless punishment then it is great, if it is done legally.

There was nothing legel in how the 2nd fight finished between Ward and SK. A neutral legitimate ref would have either

1) Stopped the action and given Kovalev a 5 minute recovery from the punches below the belt line

2) Warned Ward and tell him to back off

3) Deduct points from Ward

4) Disqualify Ward

But we don't need to turn this thread into another ''low blow it was wrong'' type of thread.

It's already accepted amongst the boxing faithful that those two win's on Ward's record are shams.

We should be congratulating a new rising star in boxing who showed his elder Ward how a real fighter, fights
