I'm trying to stay on topic, I've asked you a question, I just wanted your input.

    Why?

Andre was a former SMW who faced a huge punching LHW in his prime, whilst not being a puncher himself.

Alvarez's win does not in any way harm Andre Ward's resume.

Good point, Kovalev style like Tyson etc is predicated on fighters being wary of the punching power. these types of fighters need that aura of invincibilty to be intact, the moment someone like Ward smashes it, every fight becomes tougher because fighters are less scared of them and go in with a stronger sense of belief that they can be beaten.

i have no input but you can ask one of 10,000 other users here. please do.

i have merely wished to thank you about admitting you were wrong that i wasnt replying about calzaghe, when i clearly and blatantly was to timeout.

I've already told you three times now. What makes you not notice that you were wrong?

Andre Ward has a lot going for him beside Kovalev so yeah, you're right it didn't take a "massive tumble" but it's not AS GOOD as it could be. Most people think Kovalev is the most dangerous/best fighter he has faced and I can get behind that, but now the Kovalev win is looking less spectacular since he just lost really badly to a a fighter who's pretty good but not too many people think really is all that special.

It's true, in his first outing EA did much better than Ward did when he faced Kov for the first time.
    Not even close

Kovalev was just never as good as he was made out to be. Alvarez most likely KOs any version of him.

Only a bunch of idiots could turn Ward's exposure of KO'dalev as a chinny bully with crazy poor endurance/stamina setting the blueprint to beat him and Alvrarez's spectacular KTFO of KO'dalev involving three brutal knockdowns - probably one of the most embarrassing sequences in recent KO memory, as something bad about Ward.

All that happened is Krapalev got wrecked again.

Let's hope he retires so we don't have to watch this anymore and see more dumb threads like this.

Yet Ward got knocked down by Kovalev and needed a hometown decision against him.

Ward was past his best and the smaller man coming up in weight. Still a fine performance from Kovalev, but Ward put any doubts to bed in the second fight.

I've just read your thread, and I agree with a lot of what you've written. But in this instance, Alvarez definitely faced a different version of Sergey Kovalev than the one who faced Andre Ward.

I expect Kovalev to lose a few more fights to B class guys if he prolongs his career.

    He's damaged goods.
