Wilder has a 100 percent KO ratio against modern sized heavies. Granted, his opposition is meh at best, fact is, most ATG punchers got KO's against lower level opposition. Including Shavers and Foreman. Most punchers aren't stopping guys with ATG chins in their prime, mainly because those guys are few and far between. I think Wilder has shown enough to be classed as an ATG puncher. Go through Shavers KO record. Who on there would Wilder have no chance of stopping? How many of those men were prime all time greats or had all time great chins and were in their prime?

The man is a hard puncher at an elite level.

I will call for caution here.

It is still a record built largely against weak opposition.

A fighters KO% falls off very rapidly, when they start meeting men ranked in the top ten.

Don't get me wrong here, I am not in a hurry to get into a Zelenoff situation!

I think that his power is terrific.

I just suggest withholding judgment a while longer.

Wilder is closing in on being 33 years old his opposition for that age is woeful. He has stopped one top 10 opponent Ortiz. Who was 38 years old and winning the fight until late by most accounts. He has fought only 2 top 10 opponents the aforementioned Ortiz and Stiverne in the first fight who took him the distance. Impossible to know if it’s “elite” power with that type of resume.
He can punch but elite is a strong term and he’s just not proven enough. If he’s elite so is Charlie Retzlaff, Buddy Baer, Cleveland Williams, Tony Galento and host of other guys that knockout C and D level fighters.

He is not 100% he did go the distance once with Stiverne but he is a dangerous man a big rangy athletic talent and an unpredictable style with huge all time power there is not real rhythm to his style despite the sloppy appearance....IMO managers see him as more of a gamble and Joshua though technically sound has a traditional style that a trainer can dissect easier. I am personally a big fan of Wilder he has the it factor and has not shown a lack of will to fight hard to win he has heart and ability and better yet he doesn't care if anyone likes his style he is there to fight and win.....I have yet to see him show fear he will fight anyone willing and to this point it seems the better fighters managers seem to think Joshua would be the better chance at winning a title not to mention the business side of fighting Joshua means you are going to make some money if you don't lose.

Don’t see why he wouldn’t be considered one of the hardest hitters ever.

It's obvious Wilder has big power. Exactly how big/huge/immense will be answered pretty soon i'd imagine. Kovalev was the biggest thing since the wheel a few years back.

Wilder has power that's natural . Few HW could have ko Cuban Luis Oritz .He is one of the few HW that have the X factor in regard to power.

I'd say its pretty much a given he is an extremely hard righthand puncher.I've never seen it suggested otherwise.

Everybody knows that Wilder can crack, and hard.

What we don't know is whether he can beat decent opposition. Yeah, he beat Ortiz. But that's a single win, that he was, as usual, losing until Ortiz ran out of gas. The main thing I take from the Ortiz fight is that Wilder recovers fast, and that his chin is better than the toilet paper that I suspected that it was.

When you're in the end stretch of your career, and your best win is a 40 year old angry turtle with a heart condition, you know that you may have to step it up, and soon.

who doubts his power? i thought he was the consensus hardest puncher in the HW division? it's just everything else that is doubted, and can you blame people, this is a man who was outboxed by Gerald Washington

wilder doesn't have 100 percent knock out he couldn't knock out a bum like stiverne in the first fight
