Is Hearn trying to get Price Killed or something? I’m guessing David is also the standby Incase Povetkin pulls out, which is a frightening prospect. I’m not saying Kuzmin is the Second coming of Earnie Shavers or anything, but with Price’s egg chin and Zero punch resistance he doesn’t have to be - all he’s got to do is weather the early storm, wait for Price to tire/lose focus then BOOM it’s lights out. Price, a lovely fella, but he is really pushing it fighting again. He is an accident waiting to happen sadly - I hope his family/friends step in.
Must be getting paid well he has gone from fighting a part time boxer at a function room in Bolton trying to rebuild and gather some momentum , to fighting on a massive ppv bill with a possible career ending defeat!!
Pointless matching Price with Kuzmin, the casuals won’t know who he is and Kuzmin is not in line for AJ. Why not Allen-Price? Allen just said he’s deciding against taking a break now and wants straight back in the ring. Would be fan friendly at least.
Yes not a fan of Price being put on cards like this. His team should be trying to get a few wins under his belt before taking fights like this if they are serious about wanting him to achieve anything again. Surely they could line someone else for Kuzmin like Joyce, Chisora, Sexton or even someone undefeated like Kash Ali (preferably Joyce or Chisora)
I can understand why people are questioning the Price fight but Kuzmin has only had 12 (13 sort of) fights in 4 years. He can clearly bang and he reminds me of Ruiz a bit as he has fast hands for a fat lad. Povetkin & Hammer have both had plenty of success working round Pricey’s jab and making him pay, so the template is there to beat him. Hopefully, Price can spark him early but this is a fella that put Joyce down a few times.
Looks good so far. I agree though, price should be fighting Allen, Cornish, sexton rather than kuzmin, if he gets sparked like he did against povetkin then it’s time to hang them up for good, I don’t want to see that again.
Decent so far. Like Askin-Okolie the most there. Campbell should win comfortably this time around. I have to say, I feel conflicted about Price. No way he should be on PPV again BUT my god I am absolutely always going to tune into his fights. If he takes this gatekeeper role, he's going to KO'd like 9/10 but he's going to ice a prospect eventually and I'm all for it. He'll then get a ton of confidence, fight someone good and get sent to Hell. Inject it into my veins.
If Price is on the PPV i'll be made up. Out of morbid curiosity I was looking forward to Price vs Povetkin more than AJ vs Parker and it will be the same here.
When it’s PPV you want entertainment. Price provides that. He had half the nation on their feet when he landed that bomb on Povetkin! Then was spectacularly KO’d but earned great respect.
