Excellent. Love watching Monzon. He was slow all the time... except when he had to be quick. One the greatest masteries of range the sport has seen.
Master of the lean back … Watch at 0:41. He does this and counters with a clean left hook catching him with all his momentum still coming forward …. A thing of beauty
Well Skins..one thing I'll try not to do is bombard you guys with heavyweight threads (except for Jimmy Young, of course)
Hi Red! A 'lean backer' for sure, much like Ali who could counter immediately after a moment's notice. Do you have to drag it out of your bud? All hail King Carlos!!! But...Bad Bennie did lay one on him at 1:27. ha ha. Blessings! J
jowcol, we're damned near always on the same page (and the same age)...think about it, Monzon, Patterson, Griffith, Young...and I know I'm like a broken record haha..
Another one of his strengths that can't be denied. In the championship rounds, Monzon was calm, focused, and the one in control. This is why it was very difficult for fighters to have sustained success against him.. Monzon Hagler is one helluva a fight
Don't know. Just saw the red banned thing on him on one of the threads. Haven't seen any new ones yet today
