Because use to be a actual judge in New York decades ago, experience at the job. Unfortunately Harold has aged quite a bit in the last 5 years, and his speech has noticably lowed. It's probably time to take him off TV.
Oh no doubt but like I said everybody was expecting Frazier to go forward and he did. A modern judge would score their fight far closer than the actual judges did. They scored it wide for Frazier even though he was regularly countered by Ali. There has never been more appreciation for defense and counter punching than there is now. Lederman scores like an old school judge. Again not saying hes right or wrong.
Or for folks who remember Jerry Quarry scoring on commentary in the mid to late 70's, dude called every round even, unless 1 fighter had a blowout round or a knockdown.
Man I've trying to school these guys on how judging used to be. Back in the old days 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s the idea was to go in there and start whooping ass. This whole thing about looking the part was nothing to them. They didn't care about that. You were supposed to go there and punch somebody. If nobody landed anything hard there weren't inclined to give anybody the round. If you went back in time to the 1950s and asked people who is going to win the war of counters they would look at you sideways. You're supposed to be whooping ass. It's a fight FFS. Modern judges are soft.
yeah alvarez won at least 2 rounds maybe 3. 4 5 and 6 kovalev but he was trying so much harder to win. the whole "he landed less punches but he punches harder" is bs. besides the best power shots landed all night save for round 4 were alvarez
landing a partially landed punch and having more power in theory. vs a flush shot that stops him in his track by the guy with less power Harold would give to Kovalev.
Alright I see what you're saying. At first I thought you were literally implying it doesn't matter how hard you land.
Bought ****ing time your trolling ass got banned, lackluster trolls like yourself should be banned on the spot. You are no MVC that's for sure.
