This is getting annoying. He keeps offering Wilder money and Wilder doesn’t wanna take it. Why doesn’t he concentrate on his own fighter, who has a fight coming up. He hasn’t talked about AJ vs Povetkin at all coz it’s a dead fight. I think Wilder should take the Whyte fight if the fury fight doesn’t come off, but this is ridiculous, he talks about Wilder more than AJ. Anyone else noticed this?
I've noticed that he conducts a lot of interviews to promote his fights. I've also noticed that when he conducts those interviews he's asked questions. I noticed that when he answers those questions people sometimes complain about him talking about whatever the question related to. In a similar way I've noticed that Fury or Wilder are almost guaranteed to talk about Hearn and AJ in every interview they conduct. One final thing I've noticed. In each of those interviews Hearn will at some point bring the subject around to what he wants to promote. He's very good at doing that. So either watch the full interview and assess it as such or accept that its the nature of media to ask questions and that those responding may be doing so because someone else is setting the agenda.
Duckroom needs to stay relevant and so use Wilder's name whenever possible because Eddie knows outside of the uk no one knows or cares for his wwe company along with his main cash cow.
How comes no one on the forum talks about it? By dead I don’t mean it won’t sell at this point AJ can sell any fight with a top 15 opponent but it’s not a match up people care about,
Ironically enough you've just outlined Wilder's media strategy, such as it is. Fury's too for that matter. Each of them are guaranteed to bring up AJ even if the question isn't posed, because each of them knows that will boost the page impressions/video view stats and guarantee them some coverage riding on the division's biggest draw's shirttails. Just replace with: Wilder/Fury needs to stay relevant and so use Joshua's name whenever possible because Finkel/Haymon/Deas/Warren knows outside of Alabama/Manchester no one knows or cares
The marketing machine has barely cranked up as yet. Matchroom's focus has been on other fights, Sky can only push so many things at once etc. To be honest they have a slightly tough job because Povetkin isn't so well known here and he can't speak English so it's a tough fight to sell. Hardcore fans know him and know this is a competitive fight, but casual fans need a narrative. Nom doubt the respective marketing teams will be on the case.
No. You're wrong, people in the uk know who Wilder is and across the world. AJ after parker fight immediatly called Wilder's name without being asked when he knew he had absolutely no intention of fighting him. Wilder wasn't using AJ's name, he was only calling him out to fight. Wilder is ready to move on and leave Jenner to fight washed up pensioners and midgets. Maybe fury was using Jenner's name however he has a right to, since Jenner is holding his belts hostage even if it meant turning down 80 million Carl Froch has already confirmed Quackroom want to drag this one out until Wilder gets old and AJ gets more experience. Jenner's name has increased in some quarters in the states due to his cowardice from turning than that record breaking contract from Wilder's team. Before he got involved with Wilder, no one in the states cared about his paper champion reign.
Theres no hype around it imo, its like Wilder v Joshua has stole its thunder and its no where near being signed lol
He is saying the same crap over and over again, you offered the deal it’s on the table, either he takes it or not but no point regurgitating the same stuff.
Thank you and I believe your from the UK as I am. No one is talking about this fight I’ve had one casual ask me about it. Everyone is talking about AJ vs Wilder and Wilder vs Fury if it’s made.
