Frazier I think, had lost something. Ali didn't do nearly as much as he did in the first fight when he lost.
    I guess Bowe

Ali. He turned a clear defeat into a clear victory while Holy juuuust scraped by Bowe, who was in half decent shape at best. Frazier was in top shape. And it's an absolute joke that 29-year old Frazier is the one supposed to be past his prime rather than 32-year old Ali who had been a pro longer, had more fights and tougher fights.

Superfight 2 was a ref’s fight. Perez let Ali hold all night and he did. Frazier made it close but Ali edged it. Holyfield’s win was bigger. He as the smaller guy, the older guy and it was much sooner after a huge fight.

Just going by a fighters age may be misleading. Frazier took punishment in all his fights. Fighters that have Joe's style Pit Bull pressure fighters don't last as long as conventional boxers. Not saying Ali was prime either but he had more left them Frazier by 74.

Ali grabbed Joe behind the head and pulled him in 113 times in 12 rounds. Still waiting for Tony Perez to warn him.

Fact: Bowe had Mr Olympia Lee Haney training him for this fight. The extra weight was(or was supposed to be ) Muscle.
But like Larry Holmes, Bowe just never had Bodybuilder type genetics and would never look like evander no matter what he took or how he trained, and Holyfield looked great at 180 and also at 215 because that's just how he was built.

If Bowe was so out of shape he would have gassed out and been stopped.
An out of shape fighter is not competitive in the championship rounds of a tough fight.

Norton 1 and 2 were both way tougher than anything Frazier had in that period except Foreman.

Frazier didn't have that many punishing fights before Ali and Foreman. He took some punches in the first round, but after that it was all one way traffic against everybody except mainly Bonavena. He was rarely knocked down and/or hurt. Lot's of fighters had more punishing fights.

Frazier had more left for all their fights. Logic and the eye test is clear about this.

Close and tougher are two different categories .. Frazier fought a swarmer style with impaired vision that got worse through out his career .. he took punishment in many fights. He was in physically tougher fights against Bonavena twice, Quarry 1, Ali 1, Mathis, Ramos, Foreman and Bugner. You are simply incorrect.

Exactly. I love Ali as much as the next guy but this fight was a ref's fight, period.
