from the Russian publication TASS - Kovalev's trainer Abror Tursunpulatov had some shocking words for Sergey's future in boxing, quite the contrary to Kathy Duva, and Sergey Himself.....

"There will not be any rematch. Sergey needs to retire. His health just isn't what it used to be. Even if he won the fight, I would suggest for him to wrap up his career."

WOW, either this dude got fired, or Sergey didn't Pay him. These are some shocking words. Was Kovalev hitting the vodka again or not taking his training seriously? or was he just not listening to his trainer, like John David Jackson said.

I think so too.. he was gassed after the 4th round. in the 6th he couldnt even hold his hands up, in the 7th his legs were gone. that is unacceptable at a level this high. He kept saying that he had an awakening, he was enlightened after he went to Greece and went to that monastery, how he got in a car accident, watched his life flash before his eyes, he said he was born-again, and a "new man". Guess not, he was just trying to convince himself of that.

He might have experienced all those things but then reverted back to type. It happens. It's like an addicts' relapse.

If your environment does not change, it's hard to make all these changes in your life.

He boxed fine but kept his hands low and got clocked with a right and never recovered. Simple as that.

Nope, he was flagging and catching shots, he was trying with what he had but it wasn't much by the 4th..A blind man could see what was coming. Any shot he caught from the 4th looked like it was troubling him

He always fought wit his hands low , but this version of himself wasn't as sharp and punched a lot slower than he used to.

Yep sounds like he’s a right nob head on the sly, didn’t Abel Sanchez work him briefly,I’m guessing he never fit in up there as they work hard in that gym.
When two recent trainers both say the same thing then you gotta think somethings up.
Can’t do things by halves in boxing as it’s such a brutal sport,I’ve got visions of Mayweather training like a newbie in his late thirties lol

In a nutshell. It's always telling when fighters trainers spill the beans about their
work ethic. Hard to not take it serious.

He had Alvarez hurt and didn't put him away. 4-5 yrs ago it would have been all over early.
