Im not talking about the fame, fanbase or money here im on about his resume, ive been looking at his resume, the time he was rising to the top and when he sat at the top with his WBC belt.

40 fights, 1 really credible name on his resume and a big big list of names that have come and gone in the division that all would of been better names on his resume and given his general profile many little boosts that has been missing from his career.

Call me a hater, im not one, But i agree with Eddie Hearn. Wilder should be a star in the States, he should be PPV smashing out big numbers and earning plenty of money with many adoring fans. I feel its his resume that lets it down but why is it so bad when its beneficial to do the opposite.

Management. Either through lack of competence lack of confidence or both they have not gotten him the big fights. Povetkin's drug tests shot that fight down so I don't rag on him too much for that.

What have you achieved in your life?

He's won a major heavyweight championship belt and made millions of dollars.

You're getting mad. He's getting paid.

Yes, fighters like Julio Caesar Chavez that learn on the job and have a lot of fights before contending are a real blight on the sport, great point.

because very little has been needed. the man got the belt, the checks continue to come in, the rest is up to personal and team ambition.

Insecurity and a team that know that he is not that good.

OP: Ortiz is NOT a credible name. He was only medically cleared to fight the day before the fight because of his high blood pressure. That is not a lie, you can look it up. It is not an exaggeration. It is not going away. Nothing mitigates that. Ortiz is an old man who should not be fighting anymore, and that is why Wilder agreed to fight him.

They think Fury is going to be the same thing, but they are going to be in for a surprise.

except when choosing opponents that will reinforce his claim to being the best heavyweight on the planet. although, he seems to be inching closer to credibility.

He probably achieved more than he could ever imagine and he's only getting started, he has at least another 5 years to fight against the best of the best and he will.

If I explain the problems of being from Dixie all I'll get is a bunch of Europeans telling me what the connections in America are like, but I reckon it's as simple as being a black man from Dixie.

His local connections starting out would be weak and on an international stage, regardless of what industry, people from Dixie have a hard time being taken seriously. So outside of his extremely local connections, basically Alabama, he had no help.

Roberto Duran was cleared to fight Ray Leonard a day or two before their fight in Montreal. Look it up. A man with a heart condition beat up Ray Leonard.

There's also the fact that he took up the sport relatively late in life, only achieved bronze at the Olympics (and never really cut his teeth on a preponderance of high-level international competition to bolster his somewhat thin quantity of amateur experience with edifying quality) and is basically still learning on the job, despite reaching the 40 bout mark professionally, with most of his early hurdles leaped on pure talent and ending too prematurely to learn from and most of his championship run having been set at the lowest bar seen for a heavyweight champion in quite some time (and that ain't just whistling Dixie ;)).

I wonder how many rounds he has actually had in his 40 fights. I dont know the numbers but i bet his first 25 fights averaged about 3 rounds per bout. Hes never going to be a technically strong rounded fighter but from that first Stiverne fight where he took his step up to the top table ive seen him honing his style and craft. He was just really wild at one point.
