His hearts not in it anymore, i'm expecting a retirement announcement more than another fight tbh. He's had a great career, and if Alvarez can do that to him its time to hang them up !

I think he is just a difficult guy to work with, going on what I've heard. I believe Abel Sanchez asked him to leave his gym as he wasn't willing to listen to instructions.

This guy deserves everything bad that happens to him in the ring. He disrespected his coach JDJ on several occasions, he said the man taught him nothing.

 

Sounds like all the blame on John David Jackson for the Ward performances were unwarranted and kind of a dick move. Kovalev looked worse this Saturday, and JDJ's words sound truer by the day.

 

yeah JDJ is a solid guy and has no reason to lie. I admit kovalev is a piece of **** for throwing him under the bus. oh well

Sorry to all the old timers on here.

But physically it's only downhill after 30 years old.

40+ is old man age for athletes. rare to find people this age...especially in boxing.

Those older than 30 are normally veterans

 

This. One clean camp can't undo years of doing that to yourself.

I actually believe he's been clean since his comeback from Ward II, but the damage was done by that point. He's still a 35 year old fighter who put unnecessary mileage on himself out of the ring, and there's no getting around it. He was never going to age as well as a Hopkins or Wlad type who lived the life 24/7.
