Lewis hit harder than Foreman. Foreman couldn't even hurt Briggs or Morrison, but Lewis stopped them.
You must not know Boxed ears, this is what he does. He's either satirical, serious, or both. He's one of the more amusing members.
Ok thanks for explaining talking to someone with great knowledge if you know more please tell me it’s very interesting and you explain very good also do you think George foreman dented heavybags because Back in the day they where different or could he do it to all heavybags also the modern ones? Also if you know Some great techniqes foreman moore also used shock you didn’t mension yet i would like to know very great knowledge you have sir.
Regarding a former sparring partner of Foreman, Tua, Lewis, and Wlad he ranked them: Wlad. Lewis. Tua/Foreman. Trainers also had Wlad above Tyson on one punch power. I would say around Povetkin power: 220-230 lbs.
The boxing world looks at power all wrong. It makes no distinction between energy, force, or power. When folks speak about power in boxing they don't mean the rate in which energy does work they only mean how devastating the punch is. These things are not interchangeable, Force, Power, and Energy, but in boxing they use words like force and power to describe how much energy a puncher has in his punch. At a look at this article about Rocky Marciano's punching: http://www.factfiend.com/rocky-marciano-hit-harder-bullet/ Did you notice how often the words power and force were used? And if the stat given on Marciano is 925 FT-LBS correct? Here's a fun fact, ft-lbs is a unit of energy. Where in this article does it speak to energy. Okay, but that's just semantics right? Everyone knows what you mean and I'm just being a nitpicking science ****, right? You can see it that way but the words used to describe a thing do it perfectly. Imagine a person using every word in the english language to describe a cat but cat. Often that's how I feel when reading about power from a boxing perspective. Not using force, power, and energy properly forces you to use extra qualifiers to differentiate the "types of power" you mean to speak to. Power is energy doing work over time. Those delayed reaction KOs, where the guy gets hit and looks fine for a few second then you see the affect. That's what power will give you. Blows that hurt long, well relatively speaking, after the strike was made. Also, "explosive power" isn't actually a thing. Power is a rate of energy itself. If you believe the rate of energy doing work was the main factor that caused a KO then say, powerful shot. Not explosive, you do not need that qualifier unless you're using power interchangeably with similar terms. Force speaking to interaction between bodies. Guys who can move a man across the ring with a hook carry a lot of force in their hooks. A jab that snaps a man's head back, I don't give a **** how snappy, flickery, or pawing it looked, is a forceful jab. Energy is the process of transfer from one body to another. Energy allows for power, work, force, etcetera but is not limited to power, work, or force. It is, in as basic terms as I can think to say it, the ability to convert. This is where your one punch, just barely touched the man, and he's out cold KOs come from. Energy has flow and attractions and will seek is least resistant path at all times. Power, true power, is found in every punch to some measure obviously, but power being the majority factor or biggest element that caused a KO is rarely witnessed and to my knowledge has never been mastered or made a consistent and dependable tool in a man's skill set. It seems like it's an event anytime anyone hits a guy, waits a tick, then they drop. Most fighters are going to depend on energy. It may be the most unsatisfying of the three as a description, but energy being the raw transfer has first dibs. Think of energy for a second in electrical terms. It responds to certain stimulus in certain ways right? Well think of KOs as a conductor. Kinetic energy just as electrical energy is going to seek its shortest path to the conductor it is most attracted to. So if you carry a ton of raw energy your punch does not presuppose the traits of your energy which means you're more likely to be able to hurt more people with a bigger array of different shapes and builds, similar to how electricity being attracted to a conductor does not presuppose its circuit. A powerful shot may not actually hurt the particular man in front of you, a forceful shot may not actually hurt everyone, but no man can simply handle energy. There is no anatomic anomaly that can save you from energy. Having a weird skull shape might make you abnormally resistant to power or force but not energy. Having weird shaped hands might make it hard for you to be forceful, but not energetic. All things not only can be converted but must be and are being at all times. If it exists in this universe it's not above energy. All things can develop, transfer, and receive energy. Meaning there is no shield for it. Also, like with electrical energy kinetic energy carries frequency. What happens when a man's head is put in a bell and the bell is rang? Anything from sickness to death right? Your skull is shaped like a bell, your fist is shaped like a hammer. It isn't exactly someone a fighter should bank on, but achieving a KO with very very little force, power, or energy is doable if the frequency of the wave that comes from the strike is disruptive to the electrical pulses in your brain. If you supply more energy you're going to get a great array of frequencies and your chances of closing lights will go up. If you're in America or Japan you're on a 60hz frequency to power your home. Europe I think is still 50hz. Why? So that your AC is in harmony with the earth otherwise the earth's own electricity and frequency would be disruptive to our ability to produce electrical power and carry it. Nothing is above this fundamental. Humans are complex but we still adhere to the basic laws of physics. Energy needs to be in harmony otherwise the systems depending on the energy will get ****ed. That said, yeah boy Big George carries a nuke in either fist. He punches like it's meant to be forceful, and poor sufferin' fools do go'uh flyin', but I'll be goddamned if he doesn't pack a surprising amount of power, real science like power. I mean George can close the lights quick and anyone closing lights quick has power. Energy doing work over a period of time right? I expect the period of time before the fighter's reaction to George's punches to be greater than it is because coming in they look like they're people movers more than very quick energy transferers, but I'll be damned if those punches don't transfer energy with a quickness. Maybe he ain't "snappy" and all them sorts of words that don't mean **** to power, but my ****, George is the truth when it comes to power.
Yes his bone size is immense Even compared to otter heavy’s But Shannon briggs has an even bigger bone structure bigger hands enormous Hands biggest of today only one boxer with bigger hands in boxing history is valuev but he is 7 foot tall Shannon bone structure is immense in combo with steroids he’s even more dangerous and is a very big puncher but despite having bigger bones/hands/muscles than foreman don’t consider HIM a bigger puncher than foreman.
Briggs' was a heavily muscled (ie juiced) guy and had asthma. He struggled against a nearly 50 year old Foreman too. Just shows you how great Old Man Foreman was.
Yes foreman was great and won that fight my opinion but despite Shannon juicing his naturel frame was big as hell when it come’s to bone thickness he has bigger wrist than foreman bigger hands but despite that foreman was a harder puncher better boxer but it shows despite briggs having bigger bones and more muscles and having big power he still could not outpower forman’s punching power and that is because foreman’s punching style for generating power was superior u orthodox not fundamental like all the otter boxers his punches looked different but his power generating technique was top notch
It worked though, in fact the arm puncher is regarded as one of the naturally gifted heavy punchers ever, everything carried weight, a shove moved men back with ease, pure brute strength that jumps out at you when you watch him
