They bever fought each other, but 2, 3, 4 years ago these were the 2 best Welterweights in the world. They never met in the ring unfortunately.

We never found out who was the best 147 pounder then. Now the tide has shifted to Spence and Crawford. Time waits for nobody.

But Kell Brook clearly won their rivalry. Because Thurman wasted and or is wasting his prime. He barely fights and has only fought the 2nd tier of the division.

Kell Brook gave it his best shot. He went up 2 weights and fought GGG toe to toe. Which was incredible to see. Unfortunately for him his eye was ruined during the fight. And he was never the same. He even fought Spence with 1 eye and could have very well have won that fight before the GGG beatdown.

History will remember Kell Brook as a warrior. And Keith Thurman is a what if right now.

Keith beat Porter in a fairer fight with no hugging or dirty tactics and he schooled Garcia. Apart from hugging porter all night what has Brook done at WW, he's been at that division since he turned pro, more than 10 years! Spence came to his hometown and made him quit, he had kell on his knees begging for mercy. Kell can barely make 154lbs he's a fat mess.

Kell Brook has yet to win the rivalry with Amir Khan let alone Keith Thurman.
Let's talk about all those bum fights Kell had before and after Porter. At least Thurman went out on top.

One correction is Kell Brook would never have beaten Erroll Spence Jr.

Thurman was offered the fight to unify with Brook but Thurman turned it down. Didn't want to come to the UK for a higher split, career high payday. He didn't even want it in the States either so not sure what Matchroom could of done when Thurman was champ.

A broken and drained Brook took Spence into deep waters. Healthy, unbroken, undrained Brook would have smashed Spence.

well coming from 185+ to 147 was a crazy weight cut, and getting ill and cutting sparring didnt help.
Its not a excuse spence was good on the night full credit to him. Brook should never of taken the fight after GGG. but he was getting so tired of fighting nobodies he took it, as thurman rejected fights and others.

You maybe right. Problem is matchroom tried making fights with other fighters but as Brook wasn't a PPV star (like AJ) they wasnt going to throw silly money at the champs. Brook was to much risk for any fighter at 147 for years. I wont critise any fighter wanting to fight and test themselves i will never critise him taking the GGG for career high payday. He was only offered that fight as he balooned up to nearly 190 (reported) at the time and needed a fight.

he should of gone to 154 ages ago but he wanted to stay as he was champ.

I think I'd pick Brook to beat Thurman H2H, but on the whole, Thurman faced better guys at WW and deserves higher placement based on that.

i was never impressed with either one as a dominant champ, i always felt they were filling in space between the absolute best of a division, they were waiting for spence to sort them out.

I'm not so sure. Spence is impressive for sure but Brook was doing pretty well for the first few rounds. Maybe without the weight moves and the damage GGG inflicted it could've been a different outcome?
