Sure, but Usyk is faaaaar more elusive than Ortiz and Szpilka, both southpaws like him, with Wilder, anything is possible, but if they can make it to 9 and 10, Usyk can make it to 12.
usyk at 6'3" 78inch reach, very skilled . wilder 6'7" 83inch reach. no skill but hella right hand. good jab for hitting and pushing opponents away and controlling distance. If usyk could jab his way in yes he could beat wilder. if not he will get caught and get ktfo. So because of the height and reach difference , everything starts with the jab, win with it or loose without it.
If Usyk can stop Granite jawed Huck, then he can get definitely hurt and knock out Wilder. Usyk has accumalative power. He'll be landing all night and WILL hurt him eventually, he'll break him down and then Wilder will be all over the place. Don't forget Wilder is a small Heavyweight in terms of weight. and Evgeny Romanov is a small heavyweight in height ( smaller than Usyk) and weight and look what he did to Wilder.
It was an amateur fight more than a decade ago. That's like picking Wilder over Usyk and giving the reason as "look Shawn Porter beat Usyk in the amateurs." Don't be a clown. Neither is relevent as to who they are now.
Usik couldn't slap himself out of a wet paper bag. He would just anger Wilder with his patty cake game plan and then would be knocked into Bolivian. This content is protected
Usyk isnt really faster than wilder like he is against everyone else at CW. Usyk will outbox wilder for a few rounds but he won't be able to avoid that killer right hand for a full 12 rounds he gets caught and wilder for his lack of skills is a great finisher. Wilder tko is the smart pick here.
yes wilder is sloppy out of control windmill. but that very thing makes him awkward and hard to fight. you dont get the normal jab, right hand, lefthook that most fighters are use too. punches are coming at all kinds of angles and with power that must be respected. still a well disciplined boxer with a faster jab than wilder can win this fight.
@Dubblechin There's one thing you can never change and that's punch resistance. You can't put muscles on a chin is the classic saying. Old fights are relevant when it comes to chins.
Smart WISH more like. In terms of overall ability Usyk is on another planet to Wilder! He'd have to be completely careless to make the defensive mistakes to let Wilder get to him. Usyk is just too elite ,too much of a winner and too disciplined ( this is a guy who gets up at 5 am every day) to make those mistakes.
