360°: Ali Bogadinović Akhmedov vs. Jorge Escalante & Abraham Michael López vs. Gloferson Ortizo RBR

Round 1

Akhmedov is flicking his jab between Escalante's thumbs, sending currents of air caressing between his eyes without actually touching him, making Escalante flinch. Akhmedov is content to feel him out for the first minute, dropping some right hands over the top and using quick feet to maneuver in and out, having a few close calls with Escalante's lunging straights embedded in the armpit while Akhmedov leaves his left arm outstretched in his wake. Double right hand to the body by Akhmedov from outside. Escalante switches to southpaw and lobs some lefts behind a weak right jab pushing his way inside. Akhmedov is working the body well, turning Escalante and nearly backing him into a corner with a succession of straight rights.

The entire nü-metal scene was like that for me.

 

Round 2

Akhmedov is targeting Escalante's body relentlessly now with torpedo combos, bending his knees to drop a level before firing the 1-2. Escalante is hung up on the ropes for a moment where Akhmedov lands some meaty left hooks downstairs. Akhmedov nettles Escalante with light jabs on the face while putting him wherever he wants, stomping him into a corner and hooking the body. Escalante now southpaw again, rowing out some right jabs and buying himself room to slide out the side door. Desperate straight flurry by Escalante falling in, all caught on the arms. Slap hook by Escalante, ducked by Akhmedov with a diagonal curvature of his upper body. Nice combo up top by Akhmedov putting Escalante on the ropes and getting him to drop his guard with body shots.

Round 3

Akhmedov is chasing Escalante around the ring, economically blasting him with quick straight combos but not wasting energy on fruitless movements. Escalante is getting backed up whenever his gut is dug into by Akhmedov's left hooks down low, but he's confident in his ability to either block, dodge, or ride the right hand. Akhmedov is still dialing the punch in, confident himself that he can hurt Escalante with it. Aaaaand, he's right. Several quick sharp rights with a single flush left hook in the mix as well. Escalante down in the corner. Saved by the bell.
