I was aware of the Bowe situation. Kinda like a King Cobra taking on a Bushmaster. Usually the one that blinks
first,.. loses...and it is easy to remember Bowe throwing the WBC belt into the trash can, instead of manning up and facing Lennox Lewis.

Young Foreman was all wild hooks / bolo punches. Bowe dominates hid head with the jab and tees off with uppercut and hook combs as he gets inside.
Bowe would take some horrible punishment but the skill level in favor of Bowe would be clearly visible.

Street brawlers don't fight like Riddick Bowe. I'd favor Foreman but, come on.

Theres a good chance Bowe goes straight to sleep from the first flush bomb foreman lands on him.

If their chins were equal, Bowe would destroy foreman due to styles but there is just too much circumstantial evidence pointing to Bowe not having the defense nor the concussion resistance to deal with an elite puncher. He was wobbled several times by the shot drugdaddicted shell of Tyrell Biggs

Bush masters are vicious but a fully grown experienced king cobra beats any venemous snake every time. Those things not only have size and power, they have enough vemom to kill elephants.

If we're talking about psychology and intimidation it isnt close. You said it yourself he dumped his belt along with other bizzare behaviors like kidnapping his family, pigging out on food, attempting a muy thai kickboxing career, etc. Outside of holyfield his resume was very mediocre and without futch, he was just a big dumb athletic slugger.

That being said, Futch is a big x factor people cant overlook as he saw all the greats of the 70's and knew all their strenths and weaknesses. Bowe also had better stamina and even foreman wouldnt be able to just mandhandle him and likely doesnt score a super early ko in the 1st. So if both men are in shape, anything can happen.

What about the question mark around Foreman's chin?

Knocked out by Ali , down vs Ron and dropped by a feather duster from Jimmy Young.

Lyle had Foreman almost out of there with a right hand. I see Bowe landing the same right hand only from longer range and I doubt he'd miss all that often due to Foremans poor head movement and defense.
Bowe will give Foreman a leathering as he comes in and he probably doesn't stand up to it.

It's possible. I already said that Bowe has a huge stylistic advantage at long and close range due to foreman being wide open for straight punches and not being as good inside as Bowe.
Foremans best range for this fight is medium range where the exchanges happen, and yes he might get put on his behind before he gets there, after all he didn't move his head.

I think the young and Ali situations had alot to due with fatigue similar to Tyson's stoppage losses and Lyle could bang harder than anyone Bowe ever had to take a big punch from.

But all in all foreman just has a much better track record vs big Punchers.

In terms of real devastating punchers Bowe really only has Bert cooper on his resumee and he really didn't have to take anything for him, similar to how George dealt with him. And he was badly hurt by several guys who are noticeably below the elite bracket in terms of one punch power.

George has Cooper Morrison Briggs Moorer Stewart Frazier Lyle and Cooney
And he beat all of them.

And tbh Bowes rep is built on one single fight where Holyfield fought a braindead strategy. 42 year old George Foreman would have knocked him OUT if Holyfield had attacked and tried to knock him out like he did with Bowe. Luckily for Bowe, Evander had nowhere near the respect for Bowe that he had for George instead of using his advantages in speed and agility.

I find old George and Bowes performances vs Coetzer and cooper to be quite similar also, if anything I think George was more impressive(and less dirty)

You think Lyle hit harder than Herbie Hide, the dancing destroyer?

Poor defense? Could say the same thing about bowe lol, hes always willing to brawl.

Chin? Bowe was dropped by holyfield who isnt exactly a huge puncher and moved up from cruiserweight. The only serious hitters he faced were cooper and hide and he was much bigger than them and didnt get hit by many shots. Bowe managed to avoid all he big hitters in his era but foreman faced more hitters than anyone except mayve ali or lewis. Foreman only went down after punching himself out.

Bowe overall is the more skilled man, but I think his lack of defense and questionable chin cost him dearly in this fight

Watch New Jack City. He grew up in an apartment complex that was controlled by drug dealers but he didn't get high. That is why Eddie Futch took a chance on him.

I read that Bowe and Tyson grew up together and knew each other from the neighborhood. Even attended the same school at one point. Bowe said that they used to call him "bummy Mike"

If Tyson was walking on the street Bowe would cross the street to avoid him. Which is a sign of intelligence.
