These are the numbers that Eddy is throwing out about the deal. I’m not sure if this is true but if it is then wow, congratulations to Wilder to make 15m in a fight with a big name which he is the A side in. If he wins he definitely gets his percentage against AJ, his profile goes up and he has the best two wins in the division on paper imo. What do you think about these numbers?
I think Hearn should stop with monetising fights mainstream as has been rightly pointed out on here previously. We all know it's a business, but there's a line when it becomes borderline vulgar constantly talking about £££/$$$. Warren mentions it in direct proportion to how much entertaining a fight will be, with Eddie it's more like 80/20.
First Eddie says it’s categorically not happening and just “PR” for the fighters and now he’s talking about the purses. He’s a little *****. A ****ing gossip queen. Like a bored housewife in a salon talking about **** that doesn’t concern him.
Check my other thread the guy admitted AJ hasn’t even signed the contract that they have been saying that he signed a while ago. The thing with Eddie is if you hear everything he says he is constantly contradicting himself.
If they came from Hearn I'd be suspicious of them. He could be just passing on gossip from within the industry, or he could be making mischief. Obviously, if true, it's a lot more than either man has ever made before and unprecedented as a guarantee for 2 guys who don't have much of a record as a draw. I'm still sceptical that this fight will actually happen, but maybe those figures are plausible if, showtime are getting behind this in a big way. Also, are these guarantees for one or two fights? If there's a Vegas fight then a uk rematch they may feel more confident in issuing a guarantee as they'd be tapping 2 markets. I think Wilder will get a percentage deal eventually because I can't see him signing a contract without one and there's too much money to be made on each side for the fight not to take place. As for where you rate this fight and presumable the Ortiz one. I question how fighting a man 3 years out of the ring with weight, drug and mental health issues compares with beating a bona fide ATG, or a prime unbeaten belt holder, but ymmv.
The reason I brought this up is because Eddie isnt in the business of lying when it doesnt benefit him. I listen to most thing Eddie says when it doesn't include his fighters or people he wants his fighters to fight. Who knows though, I hope its true coz I want Wilder to earn big money so he can warrant the price he is charging for the AJ fight so that fight gets closer.
That would be hilarious . Wilder turns down 15 million crackhead money for the same amount minus a non undisputed bout and no rematch Claus worth 50 million if he win against Fury or a loss against a guy not ready at full capacity ???
Thats an excellent business move by Wilder. 15 mil $ is poor money for an AJ fight because its a way bigger fight but for a Fury fight that is excellent money. First of all its less dangerous with Fury not having fought a top opponent in 2 years, its in his own back yard and if he wins he can demand way more in the negotiation for the AJ fight.
But I thought people wanted him to take 6-7 m for the Whyte fight and how he wasn't going to make anything more than that. This is why I said most people on this forum can't do business and have no business sense. None. LMFAO
Lol Hearn said the fight wasn’t happening last week. Not a good look for Hearn and Joshua if Fury steps up after 2 warm up fights having been out the ring nearly 3 years. And it’s not like Fury was ticking over training either lol.
