Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Orlando Salido 12 Rounds @ Featherweight. September 11, 2010

    Round 1 Gamboa 10-9
Cleaner harder shots landed by YG, Salido was aggressive but ineffective.
Round 2 Salido 10-9, close Salido blocked and rolled most of YG's shots, landed cleaner.
Round 3 Gamboa 10-9 Gamboa unleashes flurry early, controlled Salido throughout, Salido closed well.
Round 4 Gamboa 10-9 Gamboa landed blistering 4 punch combo early, lit Salido up for the rest of round.
Round 5 Salido 10-9 Best round for Orlando so far, he did solid work to the body, landed clean rights up top.
Round 6 Salido 10-9, close Back and forth round, Salido catching anc countering with non stop barrage to body.
Round 7 Gamboa 10-9 Clear Gamboa round, he flurried early, and potshotted cleanly the rest of the round.
Round 8 Salido 10-8 Big round for Siri, he drops YG with overhand, lands several clean bombs, has YG holding a lot.
Round 9 Salido 10-9 Gamboa's activity has dropped, Siri worked body and landed hooks throughout.
Round 10 Gamboa 10-9 Dominant round for YG, counter from the outside, then badly hurt and nearly drop Siri late.
Round 11 Gamboa 10-9 Headclash early, Siri is cut on forehead, YG dances around wins round with ease.
Round 12 Gamboa 8-7 Siri slips on paint, BS KD, Gamboa legit drops him, docked two points for hitting while down.

    Gamboa 112-111

The fact that this fight is misremembered as this one sided schooling annoys the **** out of me, I guess its just urban legend at this point, the fact is Salido shaded the 2nd and the 6th with more volume, while his underrated defense went seemingly unnoticed, Gamboa was connecting with Siri's gloves more often than not. Siri won the 5th and the 8th big, and outworked him in the 9th. The first knockdown was crap in the 12th, he slipped on the paint on the ad in the middle of the ring, the second was legit though, and the two points docked from Gamboa were very valid deductions. Gamboa's performance against Salido in his 18th professional fight, all things considered is actually less impressive than Lomachenko's. Loma wasn't dropped or hurt, wasn't hit clean very often, as opposed to Gamboa who ate several bombs clean, Loma also didn't lose any one round as badly as Gamboa did a few. Also based on styles, Gamboa should have had more of an advantage than Loma did, but Gamboa's poor ring IQ threw that out of the window. Loma showed better ring IQ, far more maturity and an ability to adjust than Gamboa did, and in my opinion put on the more impressive performance of the two.

I've scored loads of fights, I have hundreds of scores in the classic thread but not that many modern ones, and some scores are spread over multiple posts so it's hard work copying them over.

Ray Leonard vs. Marvin Hagler 12 Rounds @ Middleweight. April 4, 1987.

    Round 1 Leonard 10-9
One sided round for Ray, Hagler landed next to nothing.
Round 2 Leonard 10-9 Better body work from MH early, but Ray pulled away with hard counter rights & hooks.
Round 3 Leonard 10-9 Hagler starts out well, but Ray's far faster hands and cleaner shots take another ound.
Round 4 Leonard 10-9 Ray countering the hell out of him, and showboating while he's doing it. East work.
Round 5 Hagler 10-9, close Marvin caught him with a right that buckled him, but still barely won the round.
Round 6 Leonard 10-9 Brilliant round by Ray, who stood his ground and landed in combination throughout.
Round 7 Leonard 10-9 Ray standing his ground at times teeing off on Hagler, Hagler finished strong.
Round 8 Leonard 10-9 Close round, Hagler cut the ring off well, got his jab on track but was still outworked.
Round 9 Leonard 10-9 Hagler hurt Ray and flurried, but Ray came back and unloaded a barrage to the bell.
Round 10 Leonard 10-9 Ray is gassed at this point, but manages to steal round with a few blistering flurries.
Round 11 Leonard 10-9 Hagler marching forward, landing little, Ray tagging him with flurries throughout.
Round 12 Hagler 10-9 Ray came damn close to winning this one too, but he was gassed, & MH was more accurate.

    Ray Leonard 118-110

Way less close than I remembered it to be. It was pretty much a one sided Ray Leonard schooling. I could see maybe 117-111 the closest I could possibly stretch it is to 116-112, but that's it. The rest of you guys, how did you score it?

The search function on this site is crap. Tried finding my score but it only shows 50 results so it's now lost in the aether someehsom, the dark web of ESB as it was.

First time I scored this fight, actually the first fight I ever scored, I had it dead even 113-113

Ever since then I've scored it for Leonard 116-112, but as I said I've not found my card so the individual rounds but if my memory serves me correct I scored the first 4, 6, 7, 10, 11 for Leonard.

By round 7 Leonard pretty much had the fight won, more down to how Hagler fought that anything else. Then the next half of the fight Hagler imposed his will much more, but Leonard was always able to land clean accurate shots and enough so to nick two of the rounds.

This is one of the greatest victories in boxing history.

Adrien Broner vs Jessie Vargas - 12 rounds welterweight

    Round 1 10-10 Even
    Round 2 10-9 Vargas
    Round 3 10-9 Vargas
    Round 4 10-9 Vargas
    Round 5 10-9 Broner
    Round 6 10-9 Vargas
    Round 7 10-9 Broner
    Round 8 10-9 Broner
    Round 9 10-9 Broner
    Round 10 10-9 Broner
    Round 11 10-9 Broner
    Round 12 10-9 Vargas

    115-114 Broner

This was a pretty good fight. Vargas started off well, being the more active and getting his shots off to the head and body of Broner, plus throwing his jab well, but after the middle rounds, Broner finally got off from first gear and he became the aggressor in the ring. Broner then really started to unload some mean left hooks and straight rights to Vargas' face, which resulted in his face getting busted up. This was a close and competitive fight and I think the result was fair. :chuck:

Wilder vs Ortiz @ Heavyweight March 3, 2018.

    Round 1 10-9 Ortiz
    Round 2 10-9 Wilder
    Round 3 10-9 Ortiz
    Round 4 10-10 Even
    Round 5 10-8 Wilder
    Round 6 10-9 Wilder
    Round 7 10-9 Ortiz
    Round 8 10-9 Ortiz
    Round 9 10-9 Wilder
    ( Round 10 10-7 Wilder )

Wilder had problems to utilize his jab at the beginning of the fight due to Ortiz southpaw stance.

The first 4 rounds could have been given either way with round 2 more in favor of Wilder and rounds 1 and 3 more in favor of Ortiz.

The 5th round was a clear Wilder round rocking Ortiz with a right hand to the forehead and knocking him down
right after Ortiz started to make the chicken dance.

The 6th round was pretty close but Wilder was landing the better punches.

The 7th round was the round where Ortiz had Wilder against the ropes and tried to finish him off after hurting
him with a counter right hook, clear round for Ortiz.

In the 8th round Ortiz was the more active fighter landing more punches, easy round to score.

In the 9th round Ortiz wasn't landing anything until the very end of the round where he traded punches with Wilder and got badly rocked, clear Wilder round.

In the 10th round Wilder dropped Ortiz 2 times and the referee waved the fight off.

    86-85 Wilder with Round 10 96-92 Wilder.

That's arguable, a 10-8 round without a KD is only given in rare cases where one fighter is completely dominating
the whole round, the round was even until Ortiz landed the counter right hook with 40 seconds on the clock as i remember, it's up to the judges to score a round that way.

    Nop, not arguable.
It was a CLEAR 10-8 round, i mean even the judges who scored all close rounds to Wilder gave it as a 10-8 to Ortiz.

lol, of course it is. 10-8 rounds with no KD are rarely given, if that was a clear 10-8 round you would find more
of those rounds in a lot of fights and i'm not a fan of giving a 10-8 round anyway, imo a fighter shouldn't be given
a 8 if he manages to stay on his feet unless he really gets beaten from pillar to post for the whole round and
    not the last 40 seconds.

I thought it was a 10-9 round because Wilder was brave enough to stand up and survive instead of taking a knee. Just for refusing to take a knee, he should be awarded 9 points in my opinion.

    lmao

Ortiz was knocked down in the fifth round and they didn't give him the same medical treatment before the sixth round as they gave Wilder before the eight round. Should show everyone what happened there and how to rate it in the big picture.

Of course it was a 10-8 round and everyone who knows 1 or 2 % about scoring fights would score it like that. Your guys problem is you probably don't have the knowledge as you think a KD is necessary to give sb a 10-8 round, complete bull****. End of discussion.

As i wrote before: The judges gave EVERY close round to Wilder and they all three scored it 10-8 to Ortiz. Only legit score for the round.

    Goodbye.
