No disrespect but does the misses have one of those classic coke bottle bodies with a pear shaped cushion? My misses is half Puerto Rican/Argentinian and imho nothing beats those full fledged figures.
Reason 1 genetics and culture provide right balance of swagger and discipline. That's why a Ukrainian sergeant was a pillar of Soviet army at its best. Reason 2 amateur boxing system survived the 90-s much better than the rest of soviet sport infrastructure. Boys and parents deemed the training useful in high-crime environment, and many mobsters were fond of it as well, supported gyms and teams with donations and sponsorships.
In comparison to these guys may weathers a whinging whining egotistical unintelligent little boy. These Ukrainians go every and anywhere to kick the ass of the best ranked fighters available n do it with class. Mayweather is a clown.
There is a reason for that though, the big, boisterous, arrogant characters sell in Britain and America, in fact I'd go as far as to say you really have to be one to make the Real big bucks in those two nations. The actual core boxing fans of Britain and USA, like yourself and myself are a small, small target audience nowadays unfortunately. So they aren't targeting just us, but casuals, who's attention they have to try catch in some other way (because the boxing alone does not do that). Countries like Ukraine are totally different, they still produce humble athletes because their people would be ashamed if they were not humble. Those people are boxing/fight crazy and appreciate the sport for the sport. Fact is that their boxers are all good enough to not need to do the arrogance thing. The ones who will make it through for us to actually know of them, that is. Those who aren't at their top level of their country, won't ever make the big US ppv money. Whereas our own who are not world level can do, because they can create these personas, like explained before. As for reasons why they produce these guys, one has to be lifestyle and diet, the food these people eat is pretty much all fresh ingredients and organic stuff. I know a Latvian guy (very similar lifestyle to Russia, Ukraine) who said he could not believe all the frozen food and **** that we eat here, it would never happen in Ukraine. As mentioned previously, the attitude of respect for the sport coupled with the fact that they're generally all athletic people, who eat the right foods, coupled with the fact that their coaches are top class and so is their amateur system.... All including them probably having to scrap their way through life in the areas where they live make them hungry, mean, skillful and very determined
I would say it's just strict soviet discipline. and it's not just Ukraine it's all the former soviet states. Briedis, Beterbiev, Bivol, Kovalev, (not anymore tho lol), Gvozdyk, UFC- Khabib, Volkov, MInakov, Fedor.
A lot of glass Mandibles in that list of pugilists. You could open your own glass factory with that crop of men
Relatively poor county with limited opportunity, and a strong amateur boxing program. Spent time with some Ukrainian (Ahem) working-girls... and it’s tough over there. Dudes are flat hungry and train/fight their guts out.
Actually it does relate to a certain degree. If you know your chin is complete glass, you're going to be more conservative in your approach in your pugilistic style. It does correlate, believe it or not. You won't see Amir fighting like Froch does. Many Ukrainians (Outside of Vitali) fight a more conservative style. Trust me, there's glass in the fighters I specified, and I like many of their fighters!
