Povetkin. Faster hands, more punch variety, he actually has defence, very accurate. He's proven his stuff at the highest levels for years. His stamina is on another level. Ortiz could be argued to hit harder and he has the southpaw thing going for him. To me the proof is that renowned bum-lover Wilder fought Ortiz (after making sure his heart medication was taken from him) and that he ran like the world's fastest mouse from Povetkin.
Povetkin. Better resume, better technically and stops Ortiz late if they ever fought. It's just a shame he's past prime now.
pov is better. better amateur and was usually a top contender as a pro for several years when prime. Today hes obviously not the full article anymore. luis ortiz i would guess wouldnt be a top contender if wilder wasnt around. The only reason an old frig like him gave wilder fits is that wilder didnt have clue how to deal with a semi skilled southpaw until that SP gassed out. Pov knows how to face southpaws, he would outpoint Ortiz or ko him when he gasses.
They both are very good in what they do. Povetkin as a pressure fighter and Ortiz as an aggressive counterpuncher. In an actual fight based on styles i would favor Ortiz slightly but it's a 55-45 fight.
You would have to fancy Pov because Ortiz doesnt look like a fighter able to go the full 12 and dig deep anymore. Pov would maul him and overwhelm him and get the stoppage through relentless pressure. Ortiz would be dangerous for the first 6 rounds.
Povetkin obviously has the much better resume. At the moment, I think this Ortiz would beat this Sasha, as far as h2h. But let's see how good he does against AJ.
Povetkin's a **** who hides from anyone near Ortiz caliber. Everyone has acted like Povetkin is a serious threat in the HW division since I was in high school, over a decade later he's proven he can whoop Price....oooo....his best fight ever was against Chagaev, amazing, and the one time he fought a HW worth a damn he put in so little effort the biggest reaction to that fight was slow dance videos being produced by the action. Povetkin's about as good as Pulev if Pulev was scared of anything that might whoop him. At least Kubrat had the balls to push Wlad, antagonize Wlad, and try. Povetkin just survived....ooo....such a highly skilled pansy *****.
Can't believe people are saying Povetkin here. Since he got popped he's been horrific. I'd fancy Ortiz to crack him 9 times out of 10.
