Both have overrated and lacking power! Wilder's career high number of maximum powered flush punches that landed on Johan Duhaupas for over 11 rounds, had very little effect on Duhaupas, outside of some minor bleeding. Couldn't even achieve a single knockdown, never mind a KO over that scrub that is Duhaupas who was put to sleep by a light hitting / feather fisted 6 foot 0 short midget that is chubby, out of shape, obese and a fat pudding named Alexander Povetkin. On the other hand, we have Wladimir Klitschko who half the time, is scared to even commit to power punches. Like he's trying to avoid hurting his opponents as against Alexander Povetkin. Neither hit that hard!
Wilder with the right hand commits more to his punch and when he connects it has that brutal and nasty sound to it, on the eye test and based on the reaction of his opponents i would say Wilder hits harder than Wladimir Klitschko. But Wladimir has more power in his left hand and a more powerful left hook. For power in both hands it's Wlad but for who has the more powerful punch it's Wilder.
Yeah, that's how I see it. Wilder more single shot, sniper power in his best punch. But on a cumulative basis, Wlads are more powerful and his left hook is much better.
Johan Duhaupas's chin > Deontay Wilder's feather fisted power. Walked through and exposed Wilder of being a feather fist in that fight. Proved Wilder's power is INSANELY lacking and that his power didn't even belong in the same ring against that scrub. Wilder's right hand is going to be bouncing off many other guys in the heavyweight division with minimal effect. Assuming he actually fights those guys. His power is made to look impressive against weak chinned opponents with incredibly low durability. The only time he faced a half decent durable body in Duhaupas, Wilder looked like he had the power of a little toddler who could barely even budge or back up Duhaupas and needed a gift standing stoppage to maintain his fake high KO ratio.
Maybe if we saw Klitschko do what Wilder does and take a run up and throw wild swinging hooks, he'd generate more power. Wilder throws shots based on Malinger's bowling technique This content is protected
Yes, Wilder has that kind of snapping power which can completely flatline your bodily functions for a moment and knock you off balance out of nowhere like he did against Ortiz in the 5th round of their fight or with the Szpilka and Liakhovich knockouts... Never saw that with Wladimir on the same degree, Wladimir was usually wearing his opponents down before he knocked them out but Wilder can do almost nothing for 10 rounds and suddenly knocks you out with one punch, that's how i see it. He has 19 first round knockouts on his record in 40 wins and Wladimir only has like 10 in 64 wins and Wlads first 40 opponents weren't better than Wilders.
I didn't see any power from Wilder against Duhaupas that suggests he hits harder than Wladimir Klitschko. Knocking out scrubs with proven low durability isn't evidence of great power. Even a washed up Arreola exposed Wilder's power. So did Bermane Stiverne when he was still in his prime. So did Dustin Nichols where Wilder needed a TKO standing stoppage and not a real so called, 'snapping power that flatlines bodily functions for a moment' type of a KO. Artur Szpilka was stopped by light hitting feather fists in Jennings and Kownacki. Not evidence of great power to KO that scrub. Wladimir Klitschko brutally one punch KO'ed Eddie Chambers, a guy never stopped or KO'ed by anybody, before or after. That's greater evidence of power! Ortiz took everything Wilder dished out at an ancient age with high blood pressure but stilll managed to get back up every time. Where was Wilder's devastating power in that fight? Why couldn't he totally incapacitate Ortiz to the point where Ortiz couldn't even get back up at all, rather than needing a referee stoppage? Meanwhile, a washed up Wladimir Klitschko at an old age brutally KO'ed and incapacitated prime Kubrat Pulev in far less time and with far fewer punches, to the point where Pulev couldn't even continue and was totally incapacitad / out for the count. That again is evidence of greater punching power!
Aren't you the guy saying no one under 6'4 should ever be favored in a HW title fight again? And yet Wilder is a fraud and AJ will be schooled by Usyk? Be consistent.
