If we throw AJ in against Holmes in 1985 instead of Spinks ,Could he have beaten Holmes? And we use the Version that stopped Wlad .
And if he beats Larry ,how's a rematch go ?

Yes, a ripe to be plucked past prime Larry Holmes would lose to a current prime version of Anthony Joshua. The 1980 version beats his ass though.

I'd back Joshua over that version of Holmes for sure.

maybe. He had trouble with 42 year old Wladdie, a shadow of old holmes, although he was always in control.

How could he have trouble with him but be "always in control". He was decked and on the verge of being stopped.

i would say decked clean, hurt but thats all. It was only because he got careless and fell into wlads trap, once.

I'd not agree he was close to being stopped. There was no repeat fall, nor threat of it. Wlad was way too cautious to/limited to capitalise on his strike.

AJ hasn't been tested enough by a boxer / fighter to test this question of the ages.
Holmes even in '85 was technically way better than anyone AJ has faced at the mo...
But time and youth has a horrible way of evening things up. AJ is a tremendous athlete and a well balanced boxer. He's a damned fine boxer AND fighter, but he's yet to face someone who also ticks BOTH those boxes. I Hope him and the vastly underrated Wilder get it on.

Get some knowledge before you keep posting these same repetitive stupid posts that you should already know the answer too ..Clown
