Honestly don't think I can call this, at least not until I see how Povetkin does against Joshua and how it compares with Ortiz's performance against Wilder. Sasha has had the far better career, and better resume, but he's got a lot more mileage on the clock than Ortiz. Very interesting clash of styles too, a pedigree pressure fighter against a counter puncher who prefers the middle of the ring rather than the ropes. Should promise a lot of high octane trading.

Give them all the juice they want and let them go at it.

Yeah I agree. Since the Rudenko fight Povetkin hasn't looked great. Ortiz for me.

To be honest i'm shocked about the lopsided poll, it speaks volumes about a couple of things going on over here.

Let's see! What's Luis Ortiz's greatest amateur + pro boxing accomplishment? Answer: beating Bryant Jennings (a guy who literally started his boxing career late after competing in a different sport).

What's Alexander Povetkin's greatest amateur + pro boxing accomplishments? Answer:

    1) Winning an Olympic gold medal.

    2) Winning a world championship amateur gold medal.

    3) Holding a heavyweight title in the pro ranks.

    4) Beating more past heavyweight champions than most other heavyweights.

So how is this even close? One doesn't even have to like or prefer either boxer to objectively infer who is the far superior and proven heavyweight.

Povetkin >>>>>>>>>> Ortiz and it's not even close!

    not holding title.

and beating "past HW champs" isnt something to shout about when its 40something Rahman. Thats not really helping you actually make Pov look worse by mentioning that. Keep the shyt wins quiet next time.

Hes got Chaggy too but the evidence is that he wasnt really much good to begin with. Still, its something.

Okay! But still better than Ortiz. And that's my point! Despite the fact that he really is just a little, 6 foot 1 chubby / pudgy little overweight pudding and a blown up light heavyweight. Ortiz on the other hand is just an obese asthma patient who is still less accomplished than that pudgy / chubby pudding.

The question was not who has the better resume.

Agreed. I think Povetkin beats him H2H too. But resume also helps in establishing a level of competence in relation to decent competition. Povetkin is very tried and tested, Ortiz not as much.

People picking Ortiz are doing so purely on fantasy.

Ortiz has done nothing in a ring to suggest he could beat current Povetkin, let alone Prime Povetkin.

What a ridiculous post mate Ortiz 'caliber eh ! Ortiz record is quite poor compared with Povetkin' s one . Sure, Povetkin is past his prime but he still good enough to beat someone like Ortiz

Hard to say, they are both old now. Povetkin was better when he was in his prime though.
