I remember the commentators saying in that Cotto fight that cause of the difference in size Cottos punches had little effect on Canelo and that Canelo appeared to have more power or weight of shot behind him and still Cotto went twelve rounds.
I’d say early on he’s as dangerous as anyone but when he gasses it does like he’s slapping a bit.

 

Yes I remember this as someone,maybe yourself Serge showed two vids of both of em doing this and the difference in sound and looks was very noticeable.

Was gonna say something very similar,the very thing about him at light middle and his Canelo weight was all about being the bigger guy and sometimes against weight drained guys like Kirkland.
Canelo at 160 still has cut a lot of weight but I’m not sure he has the advantage anymore which is how it should be anyway.
Perhaps the strange thing is in the run up to the first fight and this is where did this “Canelo the power puncher”thing come from?

The first part doesn't make sense. I'm talking about CANELO'S force of his punches. That is independent of who he is hitting. Also Canelo got bigger anyway so he would have hit harder.

canelo is not a ko artist, but he can crack when he wants to. i think he is at the best weight hes ever been, and he has perfected much of his personal technique, so he is hitting harder than he ever has. liam says he hits harder than mungia, and that kid isnt feather fisted.

Is this a joke? Angulo was done from the first round (perhaps even the first few punches). Alfredo was concussed the rest of the fight.

 

Canelo is a heavy enough puncher to keep GGG from going to ape-**** on him.
