I had Kovalev just winning the first fight, but it was no robbery it could have gone either way, that's boxing there's been many fights like that in boxing history.
The return Ward always had it in hand. He'd hurt Kovalev with body shots the first fight and realised there was weakness there and capitalised on it the 2nd time round.
However when you get down to the nitty gritty when the chips were down Kov was found to simply have no heart.
When he had someone in front of him who wasn't intimidated and could lay it on him, he was happy to bail out.
This also against an opponent who despite his gifts wasn't known to be a heavy hitter.
Kovalev fans simply just need to accept it.

   Not really. Ward's resume was already quality prior to beating Kovalev twice. Only a hater would state otherwise.

If boxing wasn't so corrupt & all fights adjudicated fairly the results would be
    Kovalev UD Ward
    Kovalev DQ Ward
    GGG UD Canelo
    Mayweather NC Pacquaio
    Castillo UD Mayweather Ft 1
    Maidana UD Mayweather Ft1
There are just a few of the most notorious rip pffs

Kessler might have a thing or two to say about that.

He was having a second wind while Ward was paying the efforts of the early rds. Mikkel got the billy goat treatment, with the benediction of the home ref and judges.

What made it so egregious is Ward did it while being clearly AHEAD: it wasn't a desperation moment, but a cold, calculated move destined to protect his scoring lead and/ or his shaky chin.

Ward found a way out of a fight he was in danger of losing. That wouldn't be the last time.

Ward lost the first fight quite clearly. The fact that majority of people saw it as a Kovalev win (about 70-80%) tells me all I need to know, I don't even take the "Ward won a close fight" stuff seriously.

Won the second fight because Kovalev was an untrained alcoholic at that stage.

No he didn't. I can't stand Ward, but he won a closely contested yet clear decision 114-113.

Pointing out Ward having had one fight his whole career that most scored against him by one point, against the #1 ranked fighter at LHW and a top 5 P4P'er, is actually giving him major props and boosting his stature. I believe this thread was supposed to have the opposite effect. Sometimes it takes reading your own words to wake you up.

lol! Wow! YOu kov nuthuggers are desperate. After i broke the fight down and destroyed all you Ward haters and exposed your imaginary nonsense youve had to come up with a new excuse to make you feel better. Now its the "if he doesnt get robbed there is no rematch so the second fight never happens. Kov is the best ever! Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" Pathetic.
Btw i had Kov winning the first fight by a very slim margin but it was close enough that if someone had it for ward i really wouldnt argue with it. YOu Kov whiners are really sad. Heres some advice. GET OVER IT!

Agree that Ward dropped a close decision in the first one.

However, after the middle of that fight (by which time Ward had figured out the Krusher) it was largely Ward having his way with a game, though overmatched, opponent. All the rest of it is wishful thinking, desperate and cringeworthy.
