Don't worry, my understanding is that this is very unlikely to actually happen.

I've never seen a fighter comeback and lack so much power than Margo..This version of Sergio if legs are ok could go out on a guaranteed win v Margo, but whats the point

So, he doesn't fight a guy no one had ever heard of outside of hardcores, who was coming off of his career best win against Gabriel Rosado, and chose to fight a guy who'd just had a razor close draw with world champ Felix Sturm instead, when he was coming off of a debilitating eventually career ending knee injury, is a reason to not like a guy?

He never had or will have the balls to fight him. He never even entertained the thought for a second. The money and popularity **** came and passed very quickly, this is beyond that, this is Lewis-Bowe type of duck, he!s simply afraid of the man.

Based on what? The only time it was ever a feasible option was literally at the end of Martinez's career when he was a hobbled gimp. That's an awfully harsh assessment of a man who literally couldn't ****ing walk properly in his last two matches. Martinez was afraid of no one, he'd have faced GGG had he been healthy enough to do so. In retrospect most don't even rate Cotto's win over him as special, what exactly would that have added to GGG's legacy anyway?

He can't fight Pac or May right away. He needs at least three tune up fights. Better schedule the big one for 2020. Let it simmer.

There were 3-4 years of a window the fight could have been made, I don't give guys passes on avoiding the toughest proven comp in their division in order to wait on JWWs or a never been like JCCjr.

Even now he's scared to utter GGGs name, if you're a man call out the top guys, that's what Shannon and many others did. GGG is now vastly more popular than he ever was. Why call out a bunch of retirees? Oh I guess he wants the paycheck without TOO MUCH of adversity. F that.

You're not a fan of the guy because he doesn't come out of retirement as a one legged 43 year old man to challenge a guy who would inflict upon him some nasty horrible damage?

Bollox. GGG was making his HBO debut around the same month Martinez fought Chavez Jr . His days a top fighter came to an end in the 12th round of that fight.
He spent the remainder of his time as a pro recovering from surgeries and injuries more than proper training.
At 39 and with one leg , he deserved the right to target fights that would bring in the most revenue.

The fight with Cotto on PPV only banked him $1.5 M. Facing GGG would have earned him peanuts.

Do you give GGG a pass for ducking Sergiy D in order for him to wait for fight with JWW Canelo?

Martinez retired after the Cotto match in 2014, what 3-4 years are you talking about? Should Sergio have insisted upon HBO bringing in this virtual nobody who's best wins were Bouadla, Ouma and Proksa pre-2013? Like I said before, its just not feasible with the post Chavez knee injuries, so that must be what you're referring to. And if you think those wins rate over that never was's wins over Andy Lee, Zbik and Marco Antonio Rubio, who was coming off of upsetting Lemieux, then you're insane. The mere fact that you're suggesting a cripple who wants one more paycheck should risk his ****ing life, I think you might actually be.

Yeah I guess it's not a problem to fight the likes of Barker, Murray and Macklin though, completely unknown Brit level guys. The leg injury thing was not a problem versus Cotto.

If Derev wins versus Jacobs and GGG does not fight him somewhere down the line, I will definitely not give him a pass on that and you can quote me on this.

Except he actually robbed Zbik, wasn't even a legit win. And it's not like Sebastian Zbik out of all people is some globetrotter. Heck he struggled with Lee before the stoppage.

Whereas GGG was crushing everyone in style.

There wasn't just GGG either, there were plethora of other semi-decent MWs he never had any intention of fighting. Such as Pirog, heck even Quillin who at the time was one of the top guys. Nop, fight the likes of Barker, Murray, Macklin if it's not making wads of cash. Low risk fights. Otherwise go for a guy nobody ever rated in JCCjr or a career JWW/WW in Cotto.

Everything he did after 2011 was underwhelming as far as MW division is concerned.
