The OP asked: Alexander Povetkin vs Luis Ortiz - who is better and why. None of the long winded waffle and nonsense you wrote, answers the question OP asked. The OP didn't ask who is the bigger coward. Ergo, that point is irrelevant. The OP didn't ask who is more scared. Ergo, that point is also irrelevant. The OP didn't ask who is scared of who. Ergo, that point is also irrelevant. I'm responding to this thread. It's you who doesn't get to decide which direction this thread goes to, when this thread was created by another user with a very specific title and a question. My points don't need to be relevant to what you say, but to the topic the OP asked in this thread. Povetkin lost to Wladimir Klitschko because he lacked the physical strength to compete. It's as simple as that! The heavyweight division has been mostly about physical strength and punching power and the heavyweight who possesses greater physical strength and punching power is usually the favorite. Povetkin couldn't have done anything more against Wladimir Klitschko because he lacked the physical strength to be competitive and effective.
Povetkin's a *****. All the evidence used to support Povetkin being a great fighter comes from when Povetkin is the heavy favorite. When Povetkin is not the heavy favorite Povetkin doesn't look so great. Ortiz is a sad south american hype job who never did much of anything, but when Ortiz got his moment he made the best of it and fought to win not to survive. Is that clear enough for you? No, I'm not saying Ortiz is the more talented fight. No, I'm not saying Povetkin has a bad resume. Yes I am comparing them. Yes i do favor Ortiz, and yes being a ****ing ***** scared of the big boy show is relevant. For ****'s sake do my words get transliterated into Greek on your end or some ****? This is not a complex idea here bubba. edit - Ergo you got a big mouth with little to no understanding.
Blah blah blah blah blah. None of that still PROVES how either guy is better than the other (which is what the OP asked initially).
@GlaukosTheHammer Nobody fights 'Scared', or to 'Survive' against Wilder...... Povetkin joins a long list of opponents who tried to just 'Survive' against Klitschko. Even Haye, who was willing to trade with Wilder, only tried to Survive against Wlad.
If you think pretending to be two slow thoughts from ******ed will frustrate me let me remind you Dixie invented that. You ain't no Tom Sawyer son. Ortiz is better because he's less of a *****. Short, to the point, let's see you misunderstand and flop this'en.
The **** nonsense.... Golly you're talking about an old sparring match and comparing it to a hw title fight. **** yourself.
This would be a fun matchup but Ortiz would have the upperhand and would stop him. Ortiz won't have to chase him down, going right to him like Jennings tried to...disaster for Povetkin. Granted I think AJ is going to stop Povetkin as well if AJ doesn't fight scared. I think Povetkin is overrated a bit but he is top 5 in the division with Fury active again but will go down as somebody who never could get over the hump when it comes down to it.
Name me a fighter who wasn't willing to go toe to toe with Wilder? Even Eric Molina went toe to toe with Wilder...... He hid in a corner against Joshua.
Triangle theory doesn't mean anything for boxing, different styles make for different fights for one. Also what sport are you even talking about, this is about boxing not rockem sockem robots? If you want toe to toe fighting go to a bar.
I think Ortiz would beat him right now...resume wise and accomplishments you'd have to go with Povetkin but head to head I think Ortiz beats him.
No sh!t, anyone picking at all is doing so on pure fantasy...thank you for the insight Captain Obvious.
Yes Molina went toe to toe with Wilder but as soon as it became too much for him he turned his back and ran away before he got knocked out.
I gave more than one reason as to why Povetkin's a coward. If I hand you this on uncontested would it absolve any of the other accusations? I didn't say the ***** was scared of Wlad caliber fighters I said he's scared of Ortiz caliber fighters, that's a step down in my book but if you reckon Ortiz=Wlad go for it bubba. I was specific as to what I meant by that too, top ten ranked fighters who are not yet clearly on their way out of top ten position. Does Ortiz's willingness to fight Wilder forgive Povetkin's unwillingness to stop anyone who debuted after him from fighting for a HW title before him? Do Wilder or Ortiz have anything to do with Povetkin ducking the IBF mando? Nope...so what the ****'re you talking about then? I'll hand you that one buddy, even though I reckon it contestable it's ok, I have five or six more bits of evidence that suggest Pov lacks the stones to fight Kong.
