a guy that’s knocked out getting tagged again before he hits the canvas. Three quick ones that come to mind, Gatti on Joey Gamache, Tua on Ruiz and Mercer on Morrison. What are some others??
How about guys that get dropped, then spring right back up to KTFO of their opponent. This is an excellent crazy ass example. This content is protected
3 for 1. Floyd hits Hatton, Hatton's head hits the turnbuckle, then his head hits the canvass; 3 for 1! Hopkins vs Lipsey, Hop lands a shot that stops him in his tracks, and before he rests his head on the ref's shoe, Hop landed another shot. This content is protected
Jackson-Norris. Terry was out after the right hook landed, then the follow up was completely unnecessary. He was already gone. This content is protected
Tua Ruiz came to mind for me too. Same thing happened with Moorer. Tua lands another shot as Moorer decides its nap time. This content is protected
Considering the horrific luck Barker had in his career it's some accomplishment he held a World Title. A double hip replacement two years before becoming World Champion, then to top it all off he loses his brother before that World Title fight. Shame he lost it the following fight when his hip dislocated. The guy still managed to get up from 2 KD's, and wasn't even hurt....Just unable to move because of the dislocation. I have respect for all fighters....But I hate Sturm which made it all the worse. - Robs Macklin after losing half the rounds - Robs Murray after losing half the rounds - Robs Sulliman by claiming he's on gear after Sulliman wins on the cards, 3 years later it condemns the fight and reinstates Sulliman as winner. - To top it all off, is a steroid cheat.
So true, however, on the excuse side, I don’t think I have ever seen a guy looking like he had hit the canvas to then spring up again that fast, lol, that was some awesome kind of instincts.
What are everyone's thoughts on that Barker KO? Should it have been a no contest? To be fair, the ref makes it awkward for Samuels to raise his right hand to block...... But Samuels is also throwing punches after Barker goes down, and whilst the ref is yelling 'Stop boxing'.
It was just an unfortunate sequence of events. Highly unusual but Samuels has to know you always protect yourself. He saw Barker come off the canvas. He was being reckless dropping his hands.
I guess even if Samuels comes back with "The ref was shouting stop fighting". The ref can say "Why you still throwing punches then?" and DQ him anyway.
Hearns =2 Vs hagler, hagler got a couple more shots in as he was out. Vs Barkley, gets a sneaky one in.
