Why blame Povetkin for PEDS when all top athletes take them?

Is there anything out there showing a potential false negative?

 

Yes, three years ago I was in top 20 in powerlifting at my weight class in my country, got tested 2 times before the competition, at both times I was on vitamin S. I did nothing to hide it since there was no point in it, I knew someone at the testing agency and he told me that they're going to bust just two guys and he made sure that I won't be one of them. Similar crap goes in every sport and in every testing agency.

 

Never had a ban or been under suspension so as far as I'm concerned he's clean. Unlike many others - Whyte, Ortiz, Fury to name but three.

 

Take as many PEDs as you want, but when you get caught be prepared to face the music. That's the way it works.

 

False negatives are super rare, but it is very telling that other labs that tested him found nothing and the only one that did lost their credentials and also destroyed a sample.

I was wrong about something though. The UCLA lab didn't get suspended solely because of Povetkin. I remembered that incorrectly.

Of course you’re right about this and whatsmore none of em view it as cheating despite throwing each other under the bus when one gets caught.
I remember Chael Sonnen one of the few who when caught admitted the lot and he said that one of the big secrets was the use of pain killers to aid recovery,some would even say Cannabis is PED on that front as well.
