Probably the TKO of Chris Byrd to go 14-0 as a prospect in 2007. Long time ago. He has some good wins though. Chageav, Charr, Chambers but Byrd is his best win. If he beats AJ that would change his legacy dramatically.
Probably Byrd, Chagaev, Chambers, Huck, Takam and maybe Perez. You could argue that Huck was actually one of his best wins at the time.
Ya Takam was still fresh and so was Huck. Boy if Povetkin can luck out and defeat AJ that would really solidify his record. Just dont see it. AJ is too big.
Thing with povetkin is more the body of work than the individual scalps - the fights mentioned above are all good and impressive wins... But even recently, going on a tear of KO’ing Perez, Takam, and Wach was impressive. None of them had been dispatched like that and were all considered contenders - and the manner in which he got rid of them (without really breaking a sweat in the Perez and wach fights) was impressive. He may not have individual stand out wins but he has looked levels above contenders that are usually tough outs for people
His best wins are in no order Byrd, Chambers, and Chagaev. I understand that to some that doesn't seem to quite stack up with being the second or third best HW of the past 13 years, even in a deplorable era, but his depth beyond that is mighty impressive and what makes him proven and underrated. His next "tier" or two of wins includes Perez, Takam, Charr, Donald, Rahman, Wach, Duhaupas, Price, Boswell, Wawryck.
to be fair they are all a bit crap after huck n chaggy. its not impressive for anyone to tear up shyt.
