So these are the big fights Degale vacated for?

Fielding stops him in the 5th.

So in his mind a fight against Uzcategui is less than a fight against Rocky Fielding? What on earth...

Yeah James, fair enough. Chase money. But chase greatness as well. No point in chasing Eddie Hearn's back pockets if you aren't gonna fight anybody in the process.

This is a case of 'I wanted to fight Saunders, Groves, Smith or Eubank but they aren't available so I'm stuck and put myself in a horrible position and it is my fault'

I fancy DeGale though. Wide points decision. DeGale is past it, but he's got a good enough brain to outdo Fielding, no doubt.

Degale is shot to bits...physically and maybe mentality
Fielding by stoppage, maybe one of those sad ones too.

Yeah. He was absolutely terrible against Truax, twice. He’s done.

is this confirmed mate? Must be being promised big things if he comes through this because I can't see this fight earning him nearly as much as being the IBF champion over in the states against his mandatory.

maybe he is being paid well but I bet Eddie is promising him all sorts of he comes through this !! Which like you Scissors I don't think he will, Fielding seems to be coming into his own full of confidence and on a high , Degale the opposite.

Degale looked finished after the first Truax fight and I seen nothing against a limited opponent in the rematch that suggests he has big improvement left.

Fielding also not quite World Class in my opinion (yes even though he is calling himself World Champion after winning the WBA regular size trouser belt).

Can see Fielding taking Degale out.

He ducked Uzcategui, plain and simple. He knew he was probably gonna lose, and maybe take a bad beating as well.

I can't really make up my mind about who wins between Fielding and this version of Degale. I suppose it just depends on how shot Degale is.

If this is actually happening it’s a surprise to me ? I realise his IBF mandotary was tough but to give a credible world title to challenge for the WBA regular title against Fielding is high risk for medium reward.I know a victory would give him a crack at the winner of Groves/Smith but Rocky is a decent fighter and in my opinion better than Truax.Degale has squandered his talents and consequently been in career shorting fight , I wouldn’t be so pessimistic to assume he can’t win but I see this as a tough fight for him.

I agree with @Scissors ,I feel that Degale’s shoulder is not up to the job of throwing out a jab that makes an opponent think twice about moving in on him. The reason he’s gassing on the ropes is because his jab has gone and opponents are walking through him.

Fielding will stop him. He’s very heavy handed and Degale is not elusive.

Can only imagine he’s underestimating Rocky and overestimating himself.

I said this would happen. Fielding will stop him mid to late, setting up a rematch with Smith at Anfield. If Groves and Degale win then there’s that well overdue rematch too. It all makes great sense.

Big shame for Degale, quality boxer but turned everyone against him so he had to fight abroad, then as soon as public opinion turns and he begins to be liked he loses it.
